We have not sailed BTB but will have this experience on Reflection 1/3-1/10 and 1/10-1/20....7day and 10day...we have to change cabins...wondering from the experienced ones how that process works at the end of the 7day trip....do we go off the ship? and what about our personal belongings....do we have to pack all of our clothes, etc or will we be able to just more or less relocate everything to our new cabin...thanks for any help.....Craig.....and most importantly my wife wants to know about the two bottles of wine on the second leg.....where can we buy that....

The B2B process is quite easy.  When you change cabins you will leave clothes on hangers, but will need to pack items in drawers.  You are also responsible for the items in your safe.  Your room steward will use a bellman type trolley to move your clothes to the new stateroom.  You will receive a succinct instruction letter explaining the process (when and where you will receive your new seapass card and so forth).  Just remember that any unused internet minutes and non-refundable OBC will not transfer over to the second leg.  And also be aware that there is a small B2B discount which either your TA or you will have to request.

It depends on where you disembark after the first cruise as to whether you have to get off the ship or not.  If it is an American port, you will be told a time and place to meet and will be escorted off the ship where you will have to punch out so that the ship gets to a zero count. You will be handed your new sea pass, if the process has not changed to picking these up outside your stateroom door.  Shortly thereafter, you will be escorted back on the ship.  In foreign countries, often you do not have to get off the ship at all.  If you want to go ashore (regardless of a US port or otherwise), you will be given "in transit" pass and can get off anytime you want to, but you will not be able to get back on until they start the boarding process. 

 

Where to buy wine is dependent on the port, but yes, you can bring on two new bottles.

 

Yes, you have to pack up all of your room, except those clothes on hangers in the closet.  They will move those by hanging them on a cart and then adding your suitcases. The room stewards are suppose to coordinate this move, but it is a good idea to let your room steward on the first cruise know you will be ding a B2B and have to change rooms.  They make this move without you present - especially in US ports because you are required to get off. 

 

I have done this a few times, but try to get the same room as we have had a couple of bad experiences, mostly due to our room stewards not being "on the ball."

You will receive a detailed letter in your stateroom a day or two prior to your TAD. It will tell you where and what time to meet, and what to bring. When we use to bring wine onboard with us on our B2B cruises we would always bring four 750 ml bottles of wine on the first leg and nothing was said. No issues at Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) where your embarkation port is. I would print out the Xpress pass for the second leg just in case. Never needed it for anything. Even if they took two of the four bottles you'd get them back for the second leg.

Here’s a copy of the B2B letter fro the Edge.   About the only thing that may change is where you meet and if you have to leave the ship.     We hey also have a B2B meeting to answer walk tour questions.

B2B passengers just show their "transit pass" at the entrance to the Concierge Class embarkation day luncheon for admission.  And Zenith members of the Captain's Club can also attend.

We have always been given a "Consecutive Cruisers" luncheon invitation with the time for the MDR. The in transit pass is for getting back on the ship if you elect to get off on TAD.

We spend 60 to 90 nights a year on a Celebrity ship, much of the time doing B2B or B2B2Bs.  Recently there have been times when B2B passengers have been instructed to show the transit pass when entering the embarkation day luncheon in the MDR.  Other times we have been instructed to show an invitation or even just the B2B instruction letter.  As I am sure you are aware there can be different procedures across the Celebrity fleet.  And in our case we just show the black seapass card if we aren't in a suite.

Here is a question I have had about B2B and haven’t seen it discussed.   So on the first cruise you can go to the duty free store OR go ashore and buy alcohol that will be held until the last night of the first cruise and then delivered to your cabin. Now can you keep these purchases and use them in your cabin (of course) for the second leg of the cruise?  Has anyone done this and if yes, how does it work?

Yes, consistently inconsistent. That's why I shared our experiences.

Thanks for the good info on the transfer process....sounds pretty straightforward....We will probably pickup two bottles of wine at one of the ports and they can hold it for us until the last night of the first leg....It's November 13 and we're both sick of winter already....
