Rare Btimmer Posted December 30, 2019 Author #281 Share Posted December 30, 2019 Today in Curaçao we rode the Choo Choo train before walking around the colorful town. There was a civil protest today but it didn't affect us other than we couldn't visit the fort. Frim tge Queen Juliana Bridge We enjoyed Dushi (pleasant) time. More of my friends Chilling out peek a boo view Street Art walking track from Pocket Earth Pro We're doing a folkloric show tonight.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 31, 2019 #282 Share Posted December 31, 2019 On one of our many stops in Curacao, we picked up a map and did the walking tour ourselves. Where you docked in the inside terminal?

Krazy Kruizers Posted January 1, 2020 #287 Share Posted January 1, 2020 Happy New Year to you who are lucky to be on a cruise ship during this holiday.
Rare Btimmer Posted January 1, 2020 Author #288 Share Posted January 1, 2020 We met friends and once again toured all over Aruba and did some snorkeling at Catalina Beach. Enjoyed stewed goat for lunch. And HAL put on a terrific New Year's Eve party and countdown throughout the music walk on deck 5 plus the World Stage. The Captain and his wife rang the bell chiming the last 10 seconds of the decade.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 1, 2020 #289 Share Posted January 1, 2020 The goat looks delicious. Sounds like you had a great New Year's party.
lizinvan Posted January 2, 2020 #290 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Happy New Year Tim and Angela and all guests and crew on the Volendam! Safe travels! Rain and mainly the wind caused cancellation of many New Year's Eve fireworks displays in Seattle and Vancouver. Lovely sunny and warm New Year's Day; at least in Vancouver, for the Polar Bear swim, etc:)

iflyrc5 Posted January 2, 2020 #292 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Question Is the daily 8 page US Today/New York Times Digest still available in paper format on the Volendam or is it only on the Navigator App?

The paper USA Today (as well as international editions) are widely available. The NYTimes is available on the APP.

We board the Volendam on Sunday for the Grand South America I can't predict the future, but the print edition is very popular on the ship (but I rarely have read it as I have access to all the regular news sources. Have a great cruise. The Volendam is in terrific shape.
cashmeremypuppydog Posted January 2, 2020 #296 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Happy New Year Tim & Angela, i just found your posts. Very interesting. Rare Btimmer Posted January 2, 2020 Author #297 Share Posted January 2, 2020 The lemon tree is still very much alive. Today while on a HAL excursion returning from a rafting excursion on the Martha Brae River, there was a loud bang underneath me, and the left side inside tire blew. The driver changed it in under 1/2 hour with the help of two fellows in a passing dump truck. Does anyone still want to tour with me? 1
iflyrc5 Posted January 2, 2020 #298 Share Posted January 2, 2020 With your experiences the last few weeks I am glad that you are not continuing on the Volendam with us and doing the Grand South America - we might hit an iceberg. 🤣😀
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 2, 2020 #299 Share Posted January 2, 2020 No -- and people always thought we had too many incidents on our cruises -- you are beating us (I think).
lizinvan Posted January 2, 2020 #300 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Tim, have you ever calculated your number of incidents per days travelled? Given the number of days on the high seas odds may not be as bad as some people think! We would risk cruising with you guys again:)
