Normie22 Posted November 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2019 I have read that the Lido deck buffet is pure madness on embarkation day and someone mentioned to avail of alternate food venues and to avoid the lido deck if possible. What alternate venues would be open that day for lunch and included in the cruise price. We intend to be among the earliest on board just because we like to get our cruise started as early as possible even if we don't have access to our rooms. Rare Essiesmom Posted November 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2019 Pretty much everything but the Steakhouse. If Lido is too crowded, go down to the Lanai on deck 5. EM
Schoifmom Posted November 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2019 Pretty much every venue is open on embarkation day with the exception of the MDR and steakhouse. Guy's BBQ may or may not be open, that seems to be hit or miss on embarkation day. BTW, you would probably get better response for line-specific questions over on the Carnival board. Welcome to CC 🙂

Rare Saint Greg Posted November 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2019 Embarkation day is a good time to try the pasta in Cucina Del Capitano. It's on deck 11 aft above the buffet. Most people won't find it until later in the cruise. Actually I saw this topic on the Dream FB group. Amazing how many people went an entire cruise on the Dream and still didn't know it existed.

No more Tandoor on Breeze, replaced with Seafood Shack.
havanadaydreaming Posted November 14, 2019 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2019 i highly recommend checking out the Cucina del Capitano on embarkation day, it's a little known secret to new/newer cruisers. my first cruise was on the Breeze and I didn't learn of CC complimentary option until 2nd sea day. the buffet is usually a zoo that afternoon.
