From my room steward: All rooms received the following: New door locks, new balcony divider doors (looks like on one side of balcony), I thought she said new dividers but that wasn’t clear, new balcony furniture, new smart TVs, new toilet plumbing, new bed frames. A few rooms received new carpeting. A few rooms received new mattresses as per their 2 year rotation through their inventory.
Rooms on the 14th floor received extra sound proofing as per the large number of passenger complaints.
There was work done to fix leaks from swimming pools.

Contractors stayed in the rooms while work was being done so the ship was full - 6,000. The jackhammer noise was a challenge (one of the glass balconies facing Central Park cracked from the vibrations) as was keeping everything covered from construction dust. They also had to take care of the construction workers rooms.

Smart TVs?  Can we get Netflix?

BTW that’s a brand new BOB board. It was frequently windy so on the cool side for FlowRider. A fellow named Scott cleverly brought his wetsuit. He also won BOB.

They are confirmed as Smart TVs. Don’t know if you can use Netflix, but they seemed to have a good selection of movies on their system.

Hi! Thank you for your review, I am giving Royal a try after multiple years and I am excited to get more opinions on the cruise line and hear frequent cruisers's sentiments. Just a quick question on Labadee: I see you went to Adrenaline Beach, would you say that's the best beach on the island? We are going to use our day in Labadee for a beach day in January, so we are wondering which beach would be the best to spend it on. Thank you!

We’ve only ever been to Adrenaline beach because that’s where the loungers for two are located. It had a small Roped off sandy area in the water in front of our chairs but the rest of the beach is rocky. I have heard that Columbus Cove is nice and it may be better for families (sandy beach, floating water park).

And my favourite dessert ever... pavlovas (meringues). They gave me one earlier in the week but I couldn’t eat it because of the whipped cream on top. They made up for it by giving me four. 😛😛😛 I got through two (I have a sugar addiction so I’m off most sources of sugar these days) and DH ate half of another one.

Do you happen to know if the MTD start time change to 630/645 was only for this sailing, or a permanent thing?  I’m guessing that the majority of people on Caribbean sailings want an early set dining time, so they’re making the entire dining room early dining, and splitting the later time between fixed & MTD?

Just concerned about queues - even with reservations with the time frame only being 2.5 hours, but hopefully they have less people enrolled in the MTD option

It's permanent.  Harmony is also doing this

Is my logic correct - where the entire dining room is assigned early dining - then splits after early seating to late dining & MTD?

Leaving Port of Miami was chaotic. It was really crowded outside the terminal and a bus was loading in the Ride Share zones. I also couldn’t get a signal to call Uber. So we walked to the other end and grabbed a cab.
Late departure from MIA due to Air Traffic Control. We thought it would be weather related.

Thanks.  I thought so.

Would you mind commenting if you experienced long waits or crowding anywhere on your cruise (embarkation, dining, shows, snack venues, WJ, etc.)?

Just off this cruise this morning, with a family group of 16. We were somewhat shocked to NEVER have a wait for anything - getting on, getting off, islands, dining room, bars... there were never more than a few people in the Sorrento's line! There was also always PLENTY of lounge chairs near the pool, the lines for the slides were minimal, and even laser tag only had a couple people in line. We heard that the ship wasn't even close to full - and it seemed more contractors got off at each port, so that may have made the difference, but for Thanksgiving week we certainly expected to spend lots of time waiting for elevators, and tripping over children, but even that was never the case.

Hopefully your landing at Pearson goes smoothly.  The weathers not the best today.

Embarkation: Fast and they took our picture with their tablet.

Dining: US Thanksgiving was the only crowded/super busy night in the MDR. We did not do any other dinner options.

Windjammer: I was leaving just before lunch time and it was very  busy.

1st Aqua 80 show was crowded.

El Loco Fresh was crowded everyday at lunch.

Casino: Always found a available slot machines. Tables had availability.

FlowRider Stand up: Always a lineup but they seemed to move along. Most riders got two attempts.

From my son:

“...we've been getting pelted by sleet, so be careful coming in. I did some shoveling but it's still coming down pretty heavy so I didn't throw down grip cause it'll probably ice over by the time you guys get here.”

Our 2:00 flight delayed until 3:40...

We are so excited to see the new changes on Oasis.

Did you enjoy the added Music Hall venue? It replaced Dazzles, so I am curious about it....we had it on our Anthem cruise and it was a terrific venue and well used.
