In suite breakfast menu

Is it just me who hasn’t worked it out but what is the best way of achieving two plates of cooked breakfast in suite with the correct items on each plate.

We generally have breakfast in our suite ( sometimes in Compass Rose) and every so often have a cooked breakfast.

I have tried all sorts of numbering and other techniques of trying to get two plates with the items correctly on each but without success.

Perhaps the breakfast card could be amended to allow for this but in the meantime I would welcome any successful ideas!

I think I understand the issues that you are encountering, (and to some extent the confusion of the room service staff).

We usually have a very simple order for the morning:

  • 2 x Coffee
  • 2 x Milk (or Half & Half)

It is quite amusing the number of different combinations we have received. Sometimes one pot of coffee, sometimes two; sometimes one small jug of milk, sometimes two, sometimes one large, sometimes hot, sometimes cold.

No worries, as long as we receive our injection of caffeine and the coffee is hot 😁

Some alternative suggestions to try to receive what you want; plated as you desire:

  1. Two breakfast cards - one for each of you. Suggest these are marked 1of2 and 2of2, otherwise they may assume a double order and bin one.
  2. An explanatory note attached to the breakfast card amplifying your exact requirements.
  3. Abandon the breakfast card and ring in your order when you wake up.

Maybe get some Post-Its and stick on what you want on which plate?

We've had similar issues where it was kind of humorous what came on which plate.  We just grab a fork and move stuff around and just enjoy not having to cook breakfast or clean the kitchen...

Usually it’s great. We get everything we order. Coffee, juice, eggs, bread, etc.  I leave the card out at night and it’s all delivered in the morning. Once in a while, either something is missing. We just phone and it comes pretty quickly.

We haven't had that problem, we just mark the card with the amount of what we want. 1 or 2 it has always come out right.

I believe the OPs initial concern was not so much wrong items as the items coming in mixed up on the wrong plates.  Maybe in lieu of post-its could just put Plate A, Plate B on the specific items, like mark A and B by whichever item should be where.

Like I said, we don’t worry that much about what’s on what plate...easy enough to move things around.  But my mom's husband has severe food allergies, so commingling food could be a major issue.  He coordinates this in advance with the F&B team.  Never had an issue.

I mean we've never had that problem everything has been plated proper as we ordered.  Maybe it's the Butler that checks everything before they bring it to the suite.  But we've never had that happen, wrong food on the plate.

Have had similar probs,,,we get too many plates..IE,,,one plate for bacon, one for sausage, one for potatoes,,etc...Instead of putting all one 1 plate,,eggs, bacon, potatoes. My DH has a big appetite, but don t need 6 different plates. I mentioned it to Butler,,then fixed. But when in Concierge level, comes from kitchen and same prob,,,unless I call and gets tiring as we order in room every b fast.

Have tried putting notations,,,lines between items,,but still happens.Feel sorry when they have to bring 2 large trays.

Perhaps thats the same prob. OP has?Just glad we don t have to lug it up,but looks like a feast for 2 b fast plates.

Thanks again for suggestions. I have tried the A&B approach and it has never worked, I have tried plate #1 / plate #2 and that hasn’t worked. We never have a butler so have to rely on the kitchen. I still think that the post-it’s are worth trying, otherwise we will continue to swap bits between plates. No big issue!
