Hi guys sorry I’ve been MIA. Yesterday incredible, but I got caught up in doing things, and for the first time ever hit 15 on Cheers that was a mistake, because I’ve been down for the count almost all day. Woops...

You’ve only got three days...gotta make the most of them.

Internet has been very slow so far. That might be because there are a lot of people onboard posting stuff on social media, and doing live FB videos. There are a ton of top Carnival execs onboard, including Christine Duffy. We’ve talked to her a few times, she’s really nice.

Let’s get back to business. We boarded the ship on deck 4 near the casino, and they made announcements that because of re-fueling, even the casino would be non smoking until 4 pm. People were NOT happy about that. The ship was fully decorated for Christmas, and it looked beautiful. Also, she totally has a “new ship smell”!

My friendWas walking around with his mouth agape. He hasn’t been on a cruise since a sailing we did on the Sun Princess in 1999 when we were twenty. Panorama has blown him away! Our first stop was the atrium bar.

Diamond and Platinum staterooms were ready when we boarded. The day before the cruise Carnival sent out the standard Journeys cruise email, saying that due to the large number of D&P’s onboard, cabins wouldn’t be ready until 1:30pm. There was a crazy uproar on FB, with people posting awful stuff to JH’s page. About 40 minutes after the first email, Carnival sent out one saying D&P staterooms would be ready right away.

After getting a few things put away, it was time to explore the ship. This is my first time on a Vista Class ship. Like other people mention, at first I really missed the atrium elevators and the skylight. The atrium is beautiful though, and the colors are much more muted then Vista and Horizon. The wall coverings and floors are more of a brown tone, and unlike previous ships I’ve sailed, there is a lot less marble flooring.

Besides Sky Zone, one of the areas I was most excited to see is the Hero’s Bar. It was only officially really announced a few days ago, when the ship was on her way to L.A. from Cabo. It’s a really nice space.728A3269-6907-4AB0-A82F-8BADE89CD615.thumb.jpeg.0248e906c0ef63c5765611da721f4e82.jpeg

Just aft of Hero’s on deck 4 is the Limelight Lounge, which was being used this morning for new crew training. I haven’t seen any comedy yet on this sailing, so I can’t comment about the seating situation, although it was my muster station, and we didn’t have trouble finding a seat on Wed.

Is this basically the where the Sports bar was on Vista? Deck 4 between the casino and limelight?

Yep. On the fun hub deck plans and the ship maps by the elevators it says it’s Skybox. The bartender at the atrium bar just told me that Carnival doesn’t have sports bars anymore.

I laughed so hard at this my side hurt and I almost spit food on my my screen! I'm sure everyone was wondering where the heck you were. Having too much fun is great excuse in my book! Have a great trip and if you can get some food menu photos that would be great. Oh and congratulations for making it to the "15 club". 😂

Thanks for that, lol😂. Here’s a sea day brunch menu from yesterday. Service was very spotty, it took over 45 min to get my steak and eggs, while my friend got his tower thing lionlike twenty. It took even longer to get our Bloody Mary’s. Oh well, inaugural sailing kinks. My only problem is that I was fighting that nasty hangover, so all I wanted was to go back to bed.

Don't think it's an inaugural sailing thing. Many comments on slow service for Sea Day Brunch in general fleet wide (where available, of course). Experienced it personally on Vista. Dunno why. Menu too complicated combined with poor staffing?

Also, had and loved the tower. If you are patient enough to wait!!

The bar looks smaller than the Skybox bar on Vista and Horizon. Is that the case or does it just look smaller based on the pictures you posted?

Interested in this as well. I think there are more tables that he didn't get pictures of. I think they made the bar smaller but put in more tables. Slowly but surely trying to weed out us bar dwellers.
