They have lots of board games in the shelves (dark, I couldn’t get a decent photo but it looks like briefcases stacked on the shelf). One of those briefcases has Apples to Apples. A game I’d never even heard of before my cruise. It is fun, and downright hilarious after a drink or two. Also the site of the Tiny ‘Tinis, as we called them. A martini trio to sample, in small martini glasses. They did this at 6 p.m. on my cruise. Most were amazing, though I do remember one dud - for me - that mixed vodka and gin in the same drink. 😱 Edited December 6, 2019 by cat shepard 1

canadianbear Posted December 6, 2019 Author #203 Share Posted December 6, 2019 Mariner ceremony only had bronze medallions given out today. Lots of 4&5* mariners and some mariners with over 1000 days! Drinks & appetizers were served. Not sure why they held it in the Mainstage deck 1 Starboard because you then had to walk to the other end of the ship to MDR deck 2 Aft for the luncheon. Yes, we were all escorted but that is quite the walk for elderly people with canes and walkers. The lunch was different in the food offered. Was ok. I actually quite liked the rice pudding. Tiles were given out as people left the dining room.

sevenseasnomad Posted December 7, 2019 #206 Share Posted December 7, 2019 Amazing Lego model. Who produced it? An employee or a passenger? Could you find out, please? It would have taken a suitcase full of Legos to build that model. We were on the O first of April and didn't see anyone even attempting to do something like this, so someone must have built it after that.

How would the stewards clean the room? I can imagine some of those Legos sucked into the vacuum, making lots of noise as mine did constantly when my son was younger. He adored Legos, and those blasted blocks were always underfoot, scattered all over the house. Sometimes, I wish I could have those days back. How time flies. My main course I ate half and gave hubby the rest. I rarely have rice pudding but enjoyed that. True-nice they tried a menu of where we had visited. Even if people didn’t like anything in the menu there is always the Lido after!

Trust me-from the moment we saw it we asked questions which no one could answer. I asked the concierge if she could find out a bit more especially about how many pieces. It took her 3 days to find just a bit of info which is a shame. It was built right on the ship-if you google Oosterdam LEGO it will show JoJo cruise and Nathan Sawaya built it. I suggested a plaque should be on it to show some info. It was built in April 2019. Edited December 7, 2019 by canadianbear 1
sevenseasnomad Posted December 7, 2019 #211 Share Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Thanks, really remarkable. I wonder how long it took to build it. Will the model remain on the O permanently? It would be quite a conversation piece for passenger to marvel over. Edited December 7, 2019 by sevenseasnomad

They built it as a community project and had it set on a big lego base with buckets of lego all around it for people to build what they fancied during the charter, was really impressive! They were very kind to give it to the ship at the end of their trip 1

canadianbear Posted December 7, 2019 Author #216 Share Posted December 7, 2019 We went to the Pinnacle for dinner again tonight. It wasn’t as busy and our service was much quicker. Hubby had the scallops this time (think he liked when I shared some the other night) and I had the filet mignon which was cooked perfect. For the first time for dessert I tried the chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream. Liked it better than the key lime pie the other night. Also attached photo of the wifi info this upcoming cruise tomorrow as well as the Voyage log for this past week. Thanks to all who followed along. We are 2 of 16 people that are staying on for the next cruise. Apparently we are the only ones from a Neptune suite so will be meeting new faces again soon.
sevenseasnomad Posted December 7, 2019 #217 Share Posted December 7, 2019 After looking at your PG pictures, I'd like to order room service; however, the cook has retired for the night. And I wouldn't be getting any serving as lusciously delicious. LOL. Gosh, those photos make the mouth water! There should be a law against posting food pictures on these boards. Just kidding. Canadianbear, it's a satisfying feeling staying onboard at the end of the first cruise when doing a B2B, isn't it? No hassle with packing and anticipation of another wonderful voyage. Can your world get any better? I doubt it.

I could not find a drooling emoji, so this will have to do.... 🤩 Thank you for those pics. Enjoy your stay in San Diego! If you do plan to walk to Seaport Village, you might need to zigzag a bit. Lots of construction after you pass the terminal & pier. The side walk was closed for at least one block, if I remember correctly. But that was in October, so a lot could change since then. And don’t forget that Circuit can get you around the downtown area for the cost of a tip. We loved that they used electric vehicles and the drivers were so personable. Alberta Quilter Posted December 7, 2019 #220 Share Posted December 7, 2019 I noticed on your cruise log that you had a Cruise Director rather than a Cruise and Travel Director like we had in September. Did you really have a Cruise Director like there used to be even six months ago?! I sure hope so. I thought combining the two positions was a disaster. I'm hoping that that position has gone back to the way it used to be. Thank you very much for your posts and photos! I'm looking forward to your next segment. Can your world get any better? I doubt it. You’re too funny!! After our dinner we walked back to change into shorts and runners (I need orthotics so always have to change) and we already saw suitcases outside of doors. It was a nice feeling that we didn’t have to do that yet. However, here we are awake before 6am to go show our passports. At least Lido, MDR and Pinnacle are open early today so no one will go hungry!

The food & service last night was what we normally have so we were happy campers-I mean sailors! We spent 4 days in San Diego prior to the cruise and did see a lot of construction when we walked to Seaport Village then. We haven’t opened our curtains yet to see the weather-just getting dressed to go do our 6:30am check in for In Transit passengers.

She is actually listed as Cruise & Travel Director. We’ve only really seen her during the Ask Captain questions-she’s great. Has a very good speaking voice when we hear her announcements. Thanks for following along. It’s been different having wifi for this back to back. It’s been great to do this but also been great to keep in touch with our kids and especially to receive photos and videos of our 4 month old granddaughter!
