Not a good deal if you don't drink.  I am better off without this Sale!

We don't drink much so we normally do not get a drink package. But I figure of the extra $560 we are paying $263 is going to gratuities and wifi which we do get. So we are paying  $297 for the drink package or $21.21 per person, per day. That is not even 2 drinks a day. 😀

Not for us either on one cruise.  Between the Casino discount and the fact that a cabin in your category must be available and there are only 2 Window Suites on the Enchanted, it's a no.  But with the casino discount, even if we buy the drink package and pay the grats, we still come out ahead.

Cruise #2 is available but still waiting on final pricing.  If I can get for the same as my original booking price, it's golden.  If not, it should still be a good deal but waiting for my PVP to let me know.

And remember that in addition to alcoholic drinks, mocktails, sodas, specialty coffees and teas, and bottled water are included!

This will be my first cruise with Princess and had the Sip and Sail promotion. I just refared for $300 more, but will save an additional $300 in gratuities (was $620) plus the amount on the wifi, which I probably would have purchased anyway. I'm happy with that

Also remember many ports have free wifi. All you have to do is to head to the nearest MacD, Starbucks or a shopping mall.

I am wondering if I can do this while we are on the Emerald next week.

From what I have read so far here, it is my understanding that we get to keep

our previous perks and can add on to our existing reservation for $$.

Is this correct?

Yes! We kept our OBC, our gratuities, free specialty dinning, and our cruise fare. Just paid $25/pp/day and got wifi and drinks. On another cruise, we kept as is and got free gratuities and drinks! That was $30pp/day.

Just checked our booking, and the new sale is not for us. The base fare is actually $10 more than our current fare and we’d lose our $150/ea. onboard credit, 2 bottles of wine and specialty dining perks.  The higher fare’s value really depends on how much you drink a day. We enjoy our cocktails ... but not 15 a day!  The added internet and gratuities still don’t make the new $840 (total) higher mini-suite fare a deal for us.

Ditto here. We are not drinkers at all, so the new sale would only add Internet for us, as our current booking already includes gratuities. So for almost $750pp more in fare, we are going to pass.

I was very excited about learning about this add on part of current sale!  I have booked 4 cruises so far ahead so I can get my specific stateroom(all four cruises are sold out now in my category) so the Best.Sale.Ever was not available to me.  But I can do the add ons even though my category is sold out.  On my 7 day cruise I am getting $81pp per day worth of amenities for an additional $25pp.  For my 14 & 18day cruises, I am getting $97 for $40. Now since I am not eligible for any sales, per se, I would be paying the gratuities in full and wifi in full because I would definitely be using these.  So if you take that in mind, I am paying $25pp per day for these expenses and drinks that would cost me $26.50pp per day for the 7 day cruise just for the gratuities and wifi alone, so basically the drink package is free to me!

On the 14 & 18 day cruises,  the gratuities and wifi would cost me onboard $26.50 and $25.50pp per day,  so then I am paying $13.50-14.50pp per day extra for the drink package.  I think this is great, especially since I will not be eligible for any sales per se. This way I get my bottled waters, my canned soft drinks, my specialty coffees(alcoholic and non), my alcohol free mojitos, etc. for just that amount.  And when we just got off a cruise where a canned soft drink came to almost $7, I think it is a great deal.
