shore trip question

If by "shore trip" you mean a ship excursion, the answer is obvious - no. If a private tour , it would depend upon the tour but also probably no.  Why would you ever expect that  if you pay in advance as required and they are holding a spot for you and you do not show that they would refund your money.

If you have a ship tour booked, then you have to cancel ahead of time depending on the excursion but usually 24 hours in advance.  If you buy a ticket to an event and then decide not to go why would you expect them to refund your ticket?
