seachelt Posted January 14, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2020 My party of 4 will be arriving at LAX Terminal 6 on Feb. 21 at 10:45pm. We need a transfer to San Pedro DoubleTree, precruise. Is there any transportation available without prebooking? Taxi or UBER at LAX-it for example? Sadly all the information I have is badly outdated. Thanks for your help! neverbeenhere Posted January 14, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2020 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/ Not quite sure what you are asking. Of course, there are taxicabs and the like.

Prime Time Shuttle $18pp with or without a res Super Shuttle (Blue Vans) are out of business. A regular Uber/Lyft approx. $35 up to 4 but luggage would probably require you to get a bigger vehicle IE (Lyft XL/Lux black XL)(Uber XL/Black SUV) these could be up to $125 for everybody and luggage. That late at night I would go with the mini van Taxi or bigger Uber/Lyft. At LAX you do have to head to a main UBER/LYFT lot to get your ride. kywildcatfanone Posted January 14, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2020 I would Uber/Lyft. It's what I'm going to do when I get out there in April.
dweeb Posted January 14, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2020 We used an UBER XL last month from LAX to the pier. It was a Saturday morning and cost us $47.63. Ther was 4 of us and we each had a suitcase and laptop bag. The vehicle was a minivan.
seachelt Posted January 14, 2020 Author #6 Share Posted January 14, 2020 Thanks very much for your replies. Seem to indicate that reservation is not mandatory. So we will just head over to LAXit and line up for Uber/Lyft or taxi. Much appreciate the info.

Which of these can still pick you up AT the airport - NOT the off site lot. We are 2 people but will have 3 to 4 suitcases. Arriving at 6 pm on a Friday so probably rush hour. Splinter Posted January 15, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2020 I believe Prime Time still is allowed to pick up and drop off at the terminal.
NW Pacific Posted January 24, 2020 #10 Share Posted January 24, 2020 We used Prime time on January 4 this year. To get pick up from the area right out of baggage claim, you do need a reservation, for one of their "private vans" or a town car. We had six in our group, made reservations a few days ahead, driver texting as soon as we got off the plane. we reserved the "private Van" as we almost filled it up. they left directly from the airport to the Doubletree In san Pedro once we got inside. their website is very user friendly and will explain all info easily. The lot for Uber, Lyft and taxis is on site, next to Terminal 1 and walkable from several terminals. Zippy Shuttle picks up curbside (outer curb).
