@brightfeather & @CarelessAndConfused What I meant by "I missed" was that I must have left it in the cabin. It did not make it home with me.

Just went back through all of my pictures on google drive. I somehow managed to get pics of the Day 1 Patter...

Thank you Jenny!  I'm hoping this will give me some kind of idea of what to expect on our first sea day and what to recommend to our group.  I really appreciate that you took the time to do this.  Thanks again!  🙂

Thanks for posting this, I can relive our cruise! We got off the Royal Jan 4, the day you boarded. In fact I was the last passenger off. We were talking in the Vista Lounge and the head of housekeeping came and escorted us off. As I scanned my medallion for the last time security called out “Last passenger!”

... @jennybenny I meant 7 days was a little long for me alone. If I had been with friend(s), family or a SO it would have been fantastic!

Wow, that's awesome!  I travel for work, so I'm used to being alone away from home. I've never done a full week on vacation without friends or family, but I've done 3-4 day weekends on my own a few times at a resort and had fun. You've now made me think about trying a 7 day cruise sometime. 🙂 although, you did say it was a bit much. 😉

Thanks for the great review!

Thanks for the great review JennyB!  We will be sailing on the Royal in Feb. I am very happy to see that Nick Nash is the Captain, and hope he will still be,  next month as well. He married us in Feb 2009 aboard the Golden Princess. I am also happy to see they have Meiomi Pinot Noir, my favorite. I guess we will put the beverage package from TA to good use!

I am happy to hear pax still dress for formal night. Although DH can't fit his tux anymore (it must have shrunk at the cleaners😉), he likes to bring a suit or two. It's really our only chance to dress up all year.

Thanks again!

Jenny, Thank you for the great review! I may have missed it; what type of dining did you have?  Did you ask for a table alone or with others?  I’m getting ready for my next solo cruise and wondering what I want to do this time. Any and all suggestions are welcome, LOL.  Thanks again!

Nick Nash is one of my favorites that I've sailed with, even if some of the cruises I've been on have been less than perfect (one cruise had the last couple of days spent in red alert conditions for Noro, another was a 1-night cruise that had a number of issues).

@MsSoCalCruiser I had asked and it was in my planner for late traditional. However, upon boarding the card in my cabin said AnyTime. I went down to speak to the Maitre D'. He assigned me 7:15pm at table 269. I also mentioned (with a good attitude and partially in gest) that if my table mates were unpleasant I would simply request a table for one. He had a solution and they rotated my dinner partners each night!! I loved it. I made sure on the evenings I didn't go to the MDR that I called and let them know several hours in advance.

I have a recommendation for boarding the ship. I always go to the main dinning room, the staff will direct you to the buffet, for a sit down relaxing meal & a chance to meet other people. It’s open from 12-1-30 pm.

The App on the phone has a "take me there" option, which is pretty handy. It's like Google Map for the ship.  If you don't mind toting your phone around.

Which “Take me There” app do you have?  My search reveals several ones.
