Hi, does anyone have an idea how long it takes Royal Caribbean to process a refund when a passenger cancels a purchase pre-cruise?

it could be 4 to 6 weeks

If you used planner OBC, immediately, if a credit card, a few business days.

If you do it yourself in cruise planner it is like when you purchase it.  It is a system automated process, and just like it takes several days sometimes for a pending charge to post, the credit won't show pending, but it takes about the same amount of time.  I have had credits within 2 days.

It partially depends on the credit card company and how speedy they are at processing/posting refunds.  When we cancelled (to rebook cheaper) the drink package last year, the refund took three days to post to ours.

Tough question to answer with any precision since you are dealing with both RCI and your credit card bank.  Some banks process refunds quicker than others.  I normally see RCI refunds within a week.

This is exactly how it worked for us as well....refund was issued in 6 days back to our credit card.

My refunds have always shown up on my CC within 2-3 days.
