Cab Fares to the Beaches

Hello.  Lots of discussion about some fantastic beach choices.  I didn't see the cost of cab fare to these beaches. 

 

Any cab fare info from the cruise port to:

 

Turners Beach

Darkwood Beach

Ffryes Beach

Runaway Beach

Dickenson's Beach

 

TIA

Shared taxi minibus fares are about $8.00 pp each way + tip, to all of the above

At the cruise terminal in Antigua, there were just so many vendors selling "Around the Island" tours and cabs to beaches that it became a bit overwhelming for first time visitors.  The price of cabs can vary from vendor to vendor and where/location you ask.  It seemed to get cheaper as you get farther away from the main street.  For beaches, we found drivers willing to take you from between $5 - $8 per person/each way...for example to the nearby Dickenson's Beach.  "Around the Island" tours varied from $20 - $35 per person.  For those that disembark early and start looking for tours...you may have to wait for the driver to fill up the entire van...thus a bit of wait.  Best if you already have a large group (you can haggle the price down a bit) or if there's only two of you, you may be able to find a van looking for just two more passengers.  Happy sailing!

You are correct, bonsai3s.

 

Supply/demand and ability to negotiate does make a difference.

 

We were quoted 3 USD pp one way to Dickenson Bay, 5 USD pp one way to Jolly Beach, 6 USD pp oneway for any of the southwestern beaches. We were also quoted 80 usd total package price for family of 4 to go to Devil's Bridge and about 2 hours on Long Bay beach (total about 4 hours)

We ended up with USD 25 pp (large group) private tour of devil's bridge, naval dockyard, drive through rainforrest and Turner's beach. (about 4-5 hours total)
