ilovetotravel1977 Posted January 28, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2020 I'm looking at the Breeze April 24, 2021 itinerary that sails to Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Kitts and Saint Maarten. We are likely getting an oceanview balcony. Which side of the ship should we pick so we are on the same side as the piers?
1025cruise Posted January 28, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Port or Starboard. No way to predict in advance which way a ship will dock.
Rare crewsweeper Posted January 28, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2020 In all those ports, it's the port captain's call. Could be either side, depends on number of ships also in port. Grand Turk, you could be on starboard and dock on the right side of the pier and have ship #2 pull in on the left side, and vice versa. Same in St. Maarten and St Kitts. In San Juan you'll most likely have ships on either side or a nice view of the industrial area.
ilovetotravel1977 Posted January 28, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Okay, I just didn't know if there were specific ways they had to park at those ports. It doesn't really matter, I was just curious.

Jerseygirl1416 Posted January 28, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2020 We’ve been on the Breeze twice. Both times starboard. Never docked starboard side to pier. It’s a crap shoot but I’d think you have better chances on port with my experience.
lucy and ethel Posted January 28, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2020 My rule of thumb is to always book the port side, don't always get the best view in port, but I always know that when I come out of my door to the left is forwards and to the right is aft! It helps!
