Sunlover317 Posted February 24, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2020 We are flying down a day early and will be arriving early enough to enjoy the beach the day before sailing. Any suggestions for a hotel stay?

Any suggestions for a hotel stay? What time of year? December through Easter even the worst hotels in Miami are $400. In the summer, you can get a great oceanfront hotel for less than $200. Rare Noxequifans Posted February 24, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2020 I am not sure how the OP means “nice”. Suggest using TripAdvisor to narrow the search, see if the location meets requirements and check the hotel website for perhaps a desired price. Good luck! Forgot to add that the South Seas, Marseilles, and the Richmond are usually reasonably priced.
Corby114 Posted February 24, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2020 Just so you know, the nice beaches are in Miami Beach, not in the City Of Miami. Also, time of year has a big difference in pricing. A beautiful, two hundred plus room during the off season in June, July, and August can easily be four hundred plus in December, January, and February during the prime winter season. Please plan accordingly.
JohninDC Posted February 24, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2020 Flying into MIA? Many choose to fly into FLL (about 30+ minute drive north) and stay in that area until the morning of the cruise. Or look at Hollywood FL - sort of in between FLL and Miami, with a nice boardwalk and a Margaritaville resort.
Sunlover317 Posted February 25, 2020 Author #7 Share Posted February 25, 2020 (edited) We are going in July. That's great news that it's considered "off" season. Nice, to me means, clean, nice pool, and in good repair. I was just wondering if anyone has stayed in a hotel in Miami that they would recommend? I'm looking online at 3-4 star hotels that are priced between $169-$200ish. There can be a big difference in cleanliness and upkeep between hotels, even considered in the same category. JohninDC Posted February 25, 2020 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2020 In downtown Miami we like the Doubletree or Hyatt, but the Hampton Inn Mary Brickell gets great reviews on this board, with many more nearby dining and shopping options. All are an easy Uber ride to South Beach - that's the "Miami" you see on TV and in the movies. In Fort Lauderdale we like the Embassy Suites and nearby Hyatt, but there are lots to choose from in the area. www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel and tourist info. Any suggestions for a hotel stay? For beachfront hotels check Miami Beach. All of the hotels are within walking distance to the beach. There are two types of hotels, there’s the newer high rise and the older Art Deco hotels. The Art Deco buildings are from a hundred years ago and are small rooms. Miami Beach has lots of restaurants, shopping and great night life. From anywhere else it will take an Uber/cab ride.

kelship Posted March 5, 2020 #12 Share Posted March 5, 2020 Stayed at the Sagamore in October...it was lovely and not super pricey. Beachfront, art deco, nice area to walk around/buy sunscreen, & even had a balcony. 🙂 Have a great cruise!
