Spring Break First Time Cruise

Single Dad with 10 and 12 year old girls. First cruise, spring break. Can drive to either New Orleans or Galveston. Which would have the most activities, clubs, etc for that age. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL and please comment why/why not.?? Thank you!

The downside to New Orleans is that it's mostly the older ships with less for kids that sail from there other than NCL that has put a newer ship (Breakaway).  Galveston will have more options.

 

Were you looking at this year or next year.

My vote is Galveston for kids that age.  Liberty is a great ship and my boys loved it.

In my opinion, Galveston. You have a lot more options with different sizes of ships and itineraries. We have sailed both Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Love them both. We personally love the LOS. Both cruise lines will have a lot to offer your kids. Our son grew up cruising and loved both cruise lines (whose is now 27).  I would research the ships and see what each has to offer, but they all basically have the same thing. Different classes of ships may have a few different things to do or activities. I promise you will definitely be addicted after the first cruise. Enjoy planning! 😁

I would also vote for Liberty out of Galveston.  Sailing on her for the 5th time in April!

They have Tidal Wave also.  For that is the most fun slide that Royal has...  The other slides are a little tame for real thrill seekers.
