I can’t believe the weather we’ve had here today. It’s rained LOTS. Thoroughly miserable. The sun is out now but too late for me. Britannia has definitely followed the sun, seen some lovely pictures of her today.

Lovely day here too, I am currently sunbathing in the garden.
I should be cleaning and preparing to go away, friends are staying at our house for a week while we are away. They have family close by too and they have kindly agreed to water the plants and feed the fish while we are away.

Seems ages since our last holiday on Indy

(Aug. 2019). Two years ago at this time we were in Lake Garda and it was hot 🥵

Hope everyone is having a good day

Michelle

Our last cruise was on Jewel of the seas from Rome in September 2019. Microsoft kindly reminded me that 2 years ago today we were in Nova Scotia. Thanks Microsoft.🤣

Any other tennis fans here?
My poor little Grandson has started pointing to the tv saying “Oh no, tennis”

I'm so glad I'm happily married  I could never date a tennis player.....

Love means nothing to them.:classic_unsure:

Yes. Love Wimbledon fortnight.

We’re watching the Murray match on tv with football on iPads and watched the Tour de France earlier.

We were thinking of trying to get Wimbledon tickets but there’s so many people there that we don’t fancy it this year.

I used to go to Wimbledon but haven’t been in the last 20 years or so.
I was lucky back in the day to see Connors, Nastase, Borg etc play. No roof then of course!

Oh wow, lucky you!
I’ve always watched tennis but only started entering the Wimbledon ticket ballot the last 4 or 5 years and have been successful twice.

We have gone to the ATP finals at the O2 quite a lot though. We’ve seen most of the current top male players except Federer.

Me too Gill. I used to do the sleep-over to be one of the first in line for the middle Saturday. Always got in to either Centre or No.1 Court. Like you I saw some of the greats  - Borg being my favourite - but my claim to fame was that my mum and I were at the longest ever game between Ken Rosewall and Charlie Passarell. What an occasion that was. Thanks Gill, for bringing back some wonderful memories! Jane.x

Well first day in London went well , arrived at 9.30 this morning and dropped suit case of at hotel which is lovely at very central in Mayfair, went to green park to see the elephants display them on too fortnum and mason for a cup of tea and biscuits, other half had a coffee which came with a mini ice cream 😂 then on to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and we were treated to going down to the vaults which was originally the very first Bank of England and also held princess Diana’s wedding dress, but now storing all the pop stars guitars and the Beatles drum kit , was very interesting but I won’t post all the photos. Tomorrow is borough market and maybe Harrods and then on to Ken Kerridges for a late dinner, I’m certainly spending my cruise money 😂😂refund

I sadly didn’t see Ken Rosewell play but I do remember the year he was in the final against Connors.

One of my favourite memories was seeing the Australian doubles players McNamara and McNamee play Newcombe and Roach (on an outside court amazingly). I loved the outside courts because you got to feel the power of the ball striking.

I am afraid I never queued. We sometimes got tickets thru the ballot or Mum’s tennis club.

Gill x

Good morning I hope everyone's feeling good

It's a little dull this morning around here expecting a few showers this morning .

We managed to cut the grass yesterday before the rain came down.

Just checking on Britannia and they are just off Newquay this morning .I hope

everyone's having a good time onboard the ship. Slowly other things are opening

back up not just the flowers in the garden  I came in from our  garden yesterday

and heard the wife's voice from the kitchen.
"Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing."
This tells me she's been ordering from that new Chinese takeaway again. :classic_unsure:

I hope you all have a good day and keep safe and that goes for the England who

play tonight -take care :classic_love:

Thanks for the morning smile.

It is currently 10°C and sunny with a high of 16°C expected.

Pauline is just about to start her work from home morning downstairs so time for me to get my banana flavoured porridge and my Earl Grey tea.

A bag Pauline ordered at  Radley's arrived at the Dalton Park Retail park store last night so I will pop out later and call at the store to collect it for her.

I hope everyone has a nice day whatever they are doing today.

Graham.

I’ve been watching the original The Cruise from 1998.

I really enjoyed seeing an Aurora sized ship - it seemed very familiar. Also, it struck me that it was a different world back then. People were just enjoying the moment, not wavinng their smart phones around and trying to record everything.

I wouldn’t have wanted any of the featured passengers on my dinner table though, especially compensation woman and her teddy bear!
