Silversun Posted April 2, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2020 Being hunkered at home has me thinking about our next tropical vacation! We've done Disney for our last 2 cruises and want to change things up. We want to do a western caribbean cruise to Mexico. During the time frame that we're looking at, Oasis of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas are going to the same ports. The only difference is cost - Symphony is about $1800 more. Our kids will be 7, 11 and 13. Both ships offer a lot of great activities for the kids, family and adults. I'll be doing some more research in the coming days, but wanted to get your opinion on your likes/dislikes of each ships, what to do/not to do, etc. Anyone know what the major differences between the ships? This will be our 1st time sailing on a mega boat and my little guy is super excited. Stay safe and well!
cruisegirl1 Posted April 2, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2020 I’ve been on both. Ships are very similar. Symphony is newer, and in my opinion has some of the best entertainment in the fleet. Not sure that it’s worth $1800 more though. good luck m

Rare Drock20J Posted April 2, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2020 Just remember, only one of the ships can you see the greatest show to ever sail the 7-seas! CATS! That is reason enough to sail on Oasis! (This thread has now been turned into a Anti-Cats thread!) 1 1

I like CATS😉 @Silversun Oasis has a better pool deck, especially the upper deck Symphony has a better Solarium Oasis has Playmakers👍 El Loco on Symphony is better Windjammer on Symphony is better Music Hall on Oasis is better than Dazzles on Symphony Spa on Oasis is nicer Book Oasis

Rare mac_tlc Posted April 2, 2020 #10 Share Posted April 2, 2020 Have also done both although Oasis was pre-amp. For $1800, I’ll sit through 1/2 of Cats. Go with Oasis. mac_tlc
taglovestocruise Posted April 2, 2020 #11 Share Posted April 2, 2020 We have done a transatlantic on both. Oasis is well worth the $1800 savings. Only real thing missing on Oasis is Wonderland and Hooked. The only thing that should be missing on Oasis is CATS.. Don't rule out Allure, it is our favorite Oasis Class. We did a TA on her 5 years ago and have another booked for OCT. happy cruising PS, also Playmakers on Symphony 1

Don't pay attention to the reviews, most are old complaining about the original longer version. Edited April 2, 2020 by John&LaLa

But the semi outdoor Solarium Bar on Oasis is really nice, I miss that on Symphony Edited April 2, 2020 by John&LaLa
jerseyjjs Posted April 2, 2020 #14 Share Posted April 2, 2020 Been on both, including the Oasis after the drydock. Both are now pretty much identical, with Symphony just having more modern cabins and overall design. For $1,800 less, go with Oasis.

deliver42 Posted April 2, 2020 #16 Share Posted April 2, 2020 I'd definitely go Oasis at this time, after the revitalization.

Merion_Mom Posted April 3, 2020 #18 Share Posted April 3, 2020 I would not hesitate to book either one, but Symphony is not $1800 better than Oasis, IMO.

loman Posted April 3, 2020 #23 Share Posted April 3, 2020 Save the money and go with Oasis . Both ships have the same layout . Been on Oasis and Allure and would not pay more for Symphony . You wont get 1800 dollars worth on the new ship .
