Cancelled Cruise Shows Up In Cruise History With Latitudes Points Credited

I see a cancelled March 20, 2020, sailing listed in my cruise history along with the points earned.  It had not been listed before today.

 

Don't know whether this is a database glitch or an intentional action by NCL to soften the blow of cancelling so many cruises.  (Not that I believe they did anything wrong in cancelling.)

Interesting...did you cancel yourself, or not, before NCL canceled the cruise?   Not sure if that had something to do with it.

My guess is that they automatically credit your history as a completed cruise sometime after the end of the cruise, as long as you didn't cancel it beforehand.   

Whether or not, they will "correct" your history later on, is another subject...

Also got points for my March 20 cancelled cruise and made the same comment about whether or not it was real.  Doesn't change my status but I do hope it stays - seems like a pretty simple goodwill gesture.

Definitely cancelled by NCL.  The leg was due to end on April 3.

I was hoping that nobody would post about this.   I did not want Norwegian to read about it and then take it all away from us.  I wanted it to sly under the radar.  😁

I had an unusual experience with my Latitudes status, a few years back, at the time they modified it to add Platinum Plus and Ambassador...

I was Platinum at the time, but right after they changed the program, I was awarded Platinum Plus, even though I was about 20 points shy of that new level.    I didn't think very much about it, dismissing it in my mind as they just "grandfathered' me into the Plus status, since I was at the highest on the old program.   

On my next cruise, my shipcard stated Platinum Plus, and I received the Plus benefits.   However, a few months later, they must have discovered the error, and they 'downgraded' me to where I should have been.   And my next cruise card reflected that.  

Since that time, I have gone over the required points, so now I am Platinum Plus, for the second time...😊

Happens automatically, will probably be figured out and changed by your next cruise if you take one.  Same thing happened randomly on Royal Caribbean.

i got credited by royal for days stuck at sea during harvey.  i was hoping to get credited for canceled days on ncl also.

Right. So having cruised once with NCL I could keep booking cruises that get cancelled and become platinum before my second cruise?  I know of people who book cruises they think will cancel to get the extra perks, usually OBC.

i got 125% and more perks from my cancel in april , and if they cancel may as well im hoping for another 125% if it keeps going like this , ill be in a royal suite in a few months.  haha j/k

the worst part was running out of creamcheese for my morning bagel with salmon. 

 

stranded on a ship with dining, casino and clubs and shows . wasnt as bad as ppl make it out to be. (of course confined   to a room would suck)
