Will onboard-purchased future credits be extended?

If you are describing what NCL calls a Cruise Next Deposit, those are valid for four years after the date of purchase.  You don't need to sail within that time frame, just use the CND as a deposit on a future cruise.  I haven't seen any notice that the expiration dates on CNDs would be extended because of the pandemic, but I may have missed a memo.

There was a post here sometime in the last 2 weeks (it was removed though) where the poster was complaining that she had one due to expire within the next year but due to health and the current situation didn't look to be using it in time.  She asked NCL to extend it but they refused.  She was all upset and saying how horrible and lacking in compassion NCL was.

Thanks- yes, "Cruise Next Deposit" is the phrase I was looking for!

I do have a NCL cruise booked but it might need to be cancelled... the cruise was going to be just a couple months shy of the expiration date.  I might need to call NCL.
