cdk559 Posted August 2, 2020 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2020 I just booked a balcony stateroom on Carnival Splendor for July 2021 out of Sydney. This California guy is nervous about booking so far out and not knowing if it will sail. The deal was too good to pass up. $2000.00 for an 8F Balcony on Panorama. The kicker was the $1000.00 casino credit....ONE GRAND in free money. Wooohooo! Is anyone else booking for next year in hopes that things will settle down and get back to normal. I just needed something to look forward to.
stellarose Posted August 2, 2020 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2020 I booked Mardi Gras Christmas break 21'. Believe it or not- not many room choices were available. she has not even sailed yet. I have a big concert postponed till next summer. so now I have the cruise to look forward to.
bury me at sea Posted August 2, 2020 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2020 I booked for April of 2021 in April of 2019. If Carnival isn't sailing by then I think they will be going through reorganization. At that point all bets would be off. I booked a March 2022 Sailabration cruise in February of 2020, within days of the initial announcement, and within days of beginning to learn about Corona. I don't know if we'll ever get to sail again but I sure do need some scheduled to anticipate.
siestakeys04 Posted August 3, 2020 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2020 I booked Mardi Gras December 11 2021 like you said something to look forward to. I want to book for July but I’ll wait a little while until I see how things look. Watching cruise vlogs a tying me over.
ober134 Posted August 3, 2020 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2020 We always book a year or more ahead... At least in the past we did. Jump in deals and/or reduced deposits, then watch for price drops. Currently closely waiting to see what happens with our November sailing.. leaning towards moving it to November '
highcorral Posted August 3, 2020 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2020 It may be wishful thinking, but I am booked Nov 1, 2020 on the Breeze Jan 30, 2021 on the Magic I had a Jan 31, 2021 cancelled when Carnival took the Fascination out of rotation. My wife and I were just talking about this last night...i.e. the longer this goes on the greater the chances cruise lines go bankrupt and there are no cruise lines left or the only ones left charge ridiculously high rates to pay back a huge amount of debt. We plan to shortly book a few long weekends at Disney to replace the several 3-4 day weekend cruises we used to book multiple times a year. Having several short getaways to look forward to was always a big positive.
linz98144 Posted August 4, 2020 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2020 We have a 2022 and a 2023 planned. Only about 30 months until sailing! 😄
Rare KarmaCruisers Posted August 4, 2020 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2020 We’re booked on the Freedom on 10/11/20; but we’re going to reschedule that for June 29, 2021 to Alaska (on the freedom) same price and we’ll maintain the $600 OBC. stinks..but it is what it is; and by JULY 21; hopefully we’ll be cruising again hah

Keep in mind that the $ 1000.00 casino credit is AU$. That is $719.50 US dollars. One plus to Carnival Australia is that gratuities are included in the basic fare. I am looking at one of those thousand dollar casino cruises, but with a "free" balcony on Spirit. I think the ship will sail, and you'll have a great time. Carnival - fun ships Princess - love boat HAL - old folks Cunard - rich old folks Costa - ciao bella AIDA - ja wohl Carnival Australia - crikey, it's fun mate Seabourn - pricey P&O - holiday, old chap P&O Australia - Carnival Australia with a London accent
Sea Hag Posted August 5, 2020 #15 Share Posted August 5, 2020 We're currently booked for 10/31/2021 and Some time in April 2022. I have some level of confidence that these will actually sail, more for the 2022 than the 2021.
LadyMac72 Posted August 5, 2020 #16 Share Posted August 5, 2020 My Alaska cruise for September 2020 was canceled so I rescheduled. It was a toss up between April 2021 and September 2021. I played it safe and rebooked for September 2021. John Heald just posted a list of 2022 cruises - one out of Baltimore to Canada/New England that has my interest. I may look into that when it goes up on website.
morningstarme Posted August 5, 2020 #17 Share Posted August 5, 2020 We returned from our last cruise on the Magic, one week before cruising got shut down. We currently are booked on the Horizon for March 2021. I have two cabins booked, one for DH and Myself and the other for son and daughter in law. We also had a nine day booked on the Radiance of of Galveston for February 2022. Radiance has already been cancelled. Being the over planner that I am, I did this: 1) Booked 6 day Horizon for October 2021 for DH and myself 2) Booked 7 day Mardi Gras for February 2022 (in case the March 2021 Horizon is cancelled) for DH, son, DIL and myself 3) Booked 14 Dream for January 2023 for DH and myself I am hoping all goes as planned and we are on the Horizon in March 2021, but if not I know I've got the other ones booked!!! simplelife Posted August 9, 2020 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2020 Our most recent cruise was on the Ecstasy Feb 29-March 5, 2020. We just squeaked by before the pandemic! I had booked since last summer an Alaska NCL cruise for July of 2021 (pretty much a trip of a lifetime - very pricey for us) ; after much consideration, and talking with the other couple who is going with us, we decided to change to to July of 2022. Meanwhile I got a really good deal on a March 2022 Cruise on the Elation. So I have two cruises booked within months of each other. Nothing before March of 2022, but I'm waiting to see what happens with Covid - if we get a handle on things and cruising opens up again, I may book something for 2021. Colorado Cruzer Posted August 9, 2020 #19 Share Posted August 9, 2020 I find deals and have plenty of time to save and plan for cruises by booking 18 - 24 months in advance. I wouldn't be worried. Just don't pay anything more than the deposit until you have to.
grandmacani Posted August 9, 2020 #20 Share Posted August 9, 2020 We are currently booked for Hawaii next year, October 16, 2021. We had 2 cruises canceled this year. Transatlantic and Norway. Finally last week we figured what the heck. I’m so needing a cruise.
