It was about five years between visits 2013/2018 (land tours not cruises) and it was amazing the see the amount of restoration done during that time and new excavations still being done. I don't think I would allow it if I was a curator of the site after all you are trusting the public is only using water. Out of curiosity I did do a google of the mosaic footpaths as I have never been to a site that allowed such hands on access to mosaics and it seems they are all fenced off now.
