And the Yacht Club at the pier is a good place to have a cool drink, whilst awaiting your place in the long tender lines !! The club does well from the cruises.

I've never actually been there but I had a feeling it was in FNQ, the beach looks very similar to the one at Port Douglas.

Street art is becoming an attraction in many cities but this city was one of the earliest to have it.

My grand daughter is up at Cairns right now for a couple of weeks, Vet placement from James Cook Uni, Townsville.

 

Just got off the phone to her, its only 32C today, she reckons Cairns is a hole, I tend to agree, the town is nothing much but the springboard for Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda, hinterland etc.
