Actually I am surprised I recognised it as my visit coincided with it being a construction site. For a place that is meant to be be peaceful contemplation I still have the ringing of drills in my ears😂

 It really is a place of peaceful contemplation. I was going to post this first but thought it a little too vague

There are several very large mine craters in France and Belgium from WW1 that look a lot like your photo.

We have a winner! Interesting site apparently lots of myths associate with the lake. We had a nice time overall on Saaremaa Island, it is a pretty place (though really windy on the coast) and amazing fish😋.
