Where was I?

Burial chambers

Yes, tombs. Generally, the Chinese like to be interred in a high spot overlooking water. If there are no caves, or it's too hard to dig one, they bore holes in the cliffs for a couple of poles on which they place coffins.

So, where are we?

Qutang gorge

Not Quotang gorge. But close so I'll hand over to you Mic for the next one.

I misleadingly mentioned Yangtze river however I should have said major tributary of the Yangtze, Daning river.

Quotang is one of the Yangtze Three Gorges. The other two are the Wu and Xiling.

My "Where was I?" is part of the Wu gouge, a part which is known as The Three Little Gorges.

Three Little Gorges was the answer I was hoping to get.

The Three Little Gorges was a tour off our Yangtze cruise ship Yangtze Gold 6. The little gorges are too small and shallow for the big ships so you go up river on smaller boats then transfer again onto smaller sampan type boats. Like in one of the pictures.

Sorry if I made it confusing.
