Anyway at least we got there in the end. I spent ages looking for the place, but just couldn't come up with where it was and missed your exact location post. At least someone was able to come up with the correct answer and the game was able to move on.

It is the Hill Street Police Station now known as the Old Hill Street Police Station beside Fort Canning. It was used by the Japanese during WW2. It is quite a distinctive building as the windows are painted different colours. Edited yesterday at 06:09 AM by possum52

Have lost count how many times I've been there since. Next pic.
Blackduck59 Posted 23 hours ago #16914 Share Posted 23 hours ago I'm going to make a big guess here. Clearly it is a Canadian Memorial. I have 2 thoughts very far apart. One is the Netherlands where Canadians liberated many Dutcn citizens during World War 2. The other is Hong Kong. I'm leaning to Hong Kong because of the headstones in the background. Your turn When I was a kid, we use to go to that beach swimming area twice a year, absolutely loved it there. One of the trips was for dads end of year work xmas do, we were bused down in furniture vans with bench seats along each side and down the middle, would be maybe 50-60 people per van, would have been about six vans, coming back everyone would be singing the good old favourites ten green bottles and show me the way to go home. They were fun days, went back in recent years as two of my daughters moved there, and was so pleased that they had restored the whole facility back exactly as it was 80 years ago. Brought a tear to my eyes, standing there remembering those days. The pole people are a recent addition in the last 10-15 years I think. Geelong has done a bloody good job with their foreshore. Have to did out a photo, be back.😁
