CruiseNext expiration/booking help

Hi everyone. I have two CruiseNext deposits ($250/each) that we purchased on a cruise in February 2019. The expiration date is February 2023. I was under the impression that as long as you use them towards a future cruise, you can go past the expiration date (e.g. I could use them for a cruise in March 2023 as long as they are applied). Hope that makes sense. Anyway, I am not able to do this; they do not come up as options for a March 2023 cruise. So... was I wrong? Do they truly need to be used before February 2023? Or do I have to call to apply them to a cruise past that date? Thank you 😊

You can normally get a one time extension, if you call up once you have decided they can handle that for you.

Looks like you tried to book online direct and was unable to apply that CND option on the payment page.

The auto system won't allow that option for selection because the last day of your intent cruise goes beyond the last day of your CND. You can still apply the 2x CNDs, but has to be done manually by the NCL staff.

For direct booking online, you can proceed to book as before. 1. Choose the courtesy hold option on the payment page to buy time. 2. Call NCL to apply the 2x CNDs on the booking. NCL will do the necessary for you without hassle. 3. Ask the NCL staff to extend the deadline in the system to accommodate the extra time it may be required for the CND department to approve.

CNDs can only be extended once.

We just did exactly what is posted here with no problems!  Took about 2 days and my 2 CND's were applied to my reservation!

Also on this topic.... I have a CN deposit that expires April 2021.  I have No plans to book NCL

in the future after talking with NCL casino dept who offers me an Inside cabin, where I get Balcony

plus other perks thru Princess.  So I told them thanks but No thanks.

Long story short... Can I  Give my CN# to a friend to use for their Ncl future booking,

and they can hopefully get the extension applied?

You sure can give them to some one else.  You will need their Latitudes number so they can be switched.  Once switched they can email CruiseNext@ncl.com with their latitudes number and have it extended.  I did that this week and my certificate extended for 2 years from the time it was due to expire which was November 2021.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the info deladypilot.  I ended up having to Call NCL, as I didn't see any way to Transfer

my CNdeposit to my friend online.  Only took a few mins for them to transfer my CND to her Latitudes#.

If you have a CND sitting in your acct.?   Are you getting bugged to book?

I couldn't wait to get that CND outta my account!

Maybe now ncl will quit calling me, or calling spouse, was getting ridiculous.

I'm not getting called to book with my CNDs, but mine also don't expire until 2023.  I get the standard NCL ad emails that I believe come to anyone with a Latitudes account, with maybe once a week a specific email about booking with my CNDs.

I received one email that I have one CN that will expire in March 2021.  I've been waiting for prices to come down before I ask for an extension because I read you can only extend it once and if the cruise you used it on gets cancelled you are out of luck.

My calls may have been connected with Ncl casino dept.?

The calls were from Ft. Lauderdale,  I let them go into voicemail.

It always started with, "we see you have a Cruise next deposit that is expiring soon.....

Soon, Yeah right.  April.

So yes, Ft. Laud is blocked now.  I have No more CND's on file. 🤔
