We are planning to disembark a Celebrity transatlantic cruise in Amsterdam and immediately embark on a Crystal River cruise same day. Any suggestions regarding what activities we can do for the morning while waiting for our river cruise to allow check in, and also keep our luggage secure?

Your river cruise will likely allow you to drop your luggage there, and they will hold it. Then you can do what you want until you need to be onboard the ship, generally mid to late afternoon.

As Gnome12 mentioned, you can drop your luggage at your ship.

There is much to do in Amsterdam and activities will be dependent on your interests. Have you visited Amsterdam in the past or is this your first visit?

Amsterdam is a very walkable city - furthermore, most trams leave from the front of Centraal Station which makes it very easy to get around the city quickly.

For first time visitors, one could see a few of the following prior to boarding a river cruise:

Anne Frank House (tickets must be booked online well in advance)

https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/

Van Gogh Museum (book your tickets online to avoid the queue)

Rijksmuseum (book your tickets online to avoid the queue)

One could also simply wander down Damrak to Dam Square where one would find the following:

Royal Palace, Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), De Bijenkork (Netherlands' premier department store), National Monument, Madame Tussauds

A short walk from Dam Square is De Wallen (The Walls - the Red Light District) where you will find  Musuem Amstelkring (Our Lord in the Attic) http://opsolder.nl/en/museum-our-lord-in-the-attic/ and Oude Kerk (Old Church).

A canal cruise might also be a nice option - there are quite a few companies from which to choose. There are also HOHO boats https://www.citysightseeingamsterdam.nl/tickets/hop-on-hop-off-boat-tour-24-h/

Take your luggage to the Crystal ship for you......They will hold it. You will LOVE that cruise, we did it in October 2019, but we started in Basel.....

We also have thought of this cruise back in the days. Unfortunately we couldn't make it so we got on another cruise but with a very similar route (I dont rememeber the name though). In any case, I am sure you had a great time there
