What better time to make those changes than when the ship is still being built? With the lettering going so close to the water line, they might prefer to update the name painting in drydock. Also, I thought I'd seen on some where the ship name lettering was actually raised, like another layer of steel which was then painted. On those ships it would be a little more difficult to change the design.
