July 2021 is our fallback from July and November 2020 cancelations. November 2021 is makeup vacation for 2020 being shot. April 2022 is in case July and November 2021 are canceled. Which ship over Thanksgiving? We are on Magic.

They sent me a deal that said free interior, was going to stick with that until I saw some of the interiors have a trundle. So got OV. Will be my first room without a balcony in a million years, lol. Has $200 OBC, free drinks in the casino. Most of the price is taxes/port charges so not quite free but a good deal. Can fly free on points from Miami from Dallas. My last cruise was shortly before all heck broke loose. Sorry you have had so many cancellations, really hope they can get back up and running sooner than later. I will remain cautiously optimistic about mine.

Thanks, I honestly wasn't planning on booking a cruise and was going to wait and see but they sent me a good-ish deal, so I bit 🙂
scoobikins Posted February 24, 2021 #14 Share Posted February 24, 2021 Knew it was coming; still disappointing, all the same. I wasn't actually sailing; I had purchased a cruise for my grandson's 13th birthday (something I did for his sisters) and his parents. Maybe some day this insanity will be over. Rare Silent Penguin Posted February 24, 2021 #15 Share Posted February 24, 2021 Glass half-full here or at least not completely empty. Our May, 2021 cruise was to be a graduation present for two of my children, who both graduated from college last year. Well, they both got jobs, one started in January and the other started last week, so neither would be able to go on vacation in May anyway. Dh and I were going to go without them, so it's a bummer for us, but at least we're off the hook for cancellations fees for the two kids.

VentureMan_2000 Posted February 24, 2021 #17 Share Posted February 24, 2021 I'm happy to have my May cruise cancelled. I really don't think I will be ready for cruising again ( and airlines ) until at least 2023. Having said that, I still have 2 cruises booked for September 2021. Wonder what the odds are that they will be cancelled too ?
FiremedicMike151 Posted February 24, 2021 #18 Share Posted February 24, 2021 This cruise was originally a last family hurrah in May of 2020 to celebrate the graduation of our youngest and engagement of our oldest. Then we bumped to June of 20, then to this coming May. My wife and I have both had covid and the vaccine, our kids have a either had covid or the vaccine, and we were definitely ready to cruise again. Alas, it wasn’t in the cards. I’m now looking at March of ‘22. Fall of 21 doesn’t work because of college schedules, so there’s a 1 week window in March that we can make work. Very disappointed.. Rare Tippyton Posted February 25, 2021 #21 Share Posted February 25, 2021 The government is in no hurry to help anybody except themselves. "The science" is much further along than a year ago, let alone 6 months ago. It is very easy for the CDC to set basic guidelines. Crew vaccinated, 5-10% of cabins set aside for infirmary, masks optional, travel at your own risk.
Rare ledges1 Posted February 25, 2021 #22 Share Posted February 25, 2021 The US is currently at 6% with two shot vaccinations. 13% have received at least one. These numbers will climb as the J&J one shot is added and the move to 1c vaccinations. Until the percentages are tremendously higher, crews are vaccinated and destination ports are opened and vaccinated, cruise ships are not going anywhere. Test cruises will probably not start in the next 45 days. This will push cruising back to at least the 1st of September. Any additional setbacks will push the date even farther. We all want cruising to return, realistically it will not happen until the vaccine percentages for the US exceed some unknown # that will be set by the CDC. I hope to hold my credits and book after I see a ship successfully leave a US port and return without a CDC issue under their new protocols. Then I will determine if it is a FUN ship. This is a multibillion dollar industry. I'd put my trust in the cruise lines to have done their due diligence to make things work. Our May 3 sailing was a casualty. I knew it would be so I guess not tears shed. We are taking the FCC and OBC and throwing it way down the road for Spring Break 2022. Come join us on Carnival Vista!
