Anyone have FCD expiring this year?

Just wondering about others experiences.   We’ve got some expiring late this year and with having several cruises cancelled  in 2020 and 2021 we are hoping they can be extended.

We had a FCD which would have expired this May. Our TA was able to have it applied to a cruise in October '22. I told her to tell HAL to either apply it or let it expire and refund to us and lose the booking.

Might be worth a call to the Mariner Society to see if they can assist.

 

I’ve found them very helpful when I needed to change my FCD currency.

Our FCC was orignally set to expire December 2020 but was extended until December this year.  I thing there will be no problem with extensions as long as HAL is cancelling cruises.

No problem with extending Future Cruise Deposits.  We had 4 extended for 1 year.  No problem since they get to keep your deposit.

Absolutely you want to ask for them to be extended as being 4 years old they have the better benefits!

Call and ask them to extend. They extended ours and the agent said she could do it with our permission up to a year with absolutely no issue. We were applying it to a booking, but I can only imagine they will do so without a booking. They are perfectly happy to hold onto cash right now and convert to a booking in the relatively near future.

I am thinking about buying multiple on my next cruise though I think they may have devalued since the last ones we bought in 2017. Will have to see what the offers are after the pandemic. I almost wonder if they may improve somewhat to incentivize people to hand over their cash.

I used  ( 7 )  FCD on cruises last fall which got cancelled and converted to FCC.

I hope they gave you enough of a bonus on the FCC to offset the onboard credits you would have had with the FCD

Not at all . No extra

Our FCC was to expire in May...doubled since the September cruise was cancelled.  We applied it to a September /22 sailing with no problems.
