carlinrob Posted April 9, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2021 Anyone have luck getting a last minute cruise booking to Antarctica either from overseas or hanging around in Ushuaia? Were the savings substantial?
1025cruise Posted April 9, 2021 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2021 These tend to be popular cruises and done on small ships. I wouldn't bet on any last minute bookings.

Well, yes and no. The big ships do sail-by's as the treaty won't allow any ship with more then 500 (I think that's the right #) pax to disembark. When we went it was on Hurtigruten's Midnatsol with 400 pax and we got to go ashore and out in zodiacs. As far as the OPs question I have no idea. donaldsc Posted April 10, 2021 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2021 The 3 times that I was in Ushuaia, there were several travel agencies on the main street that advertised last minute Antarctica cruise. I did not check them out but it appears that the last minute cruises are available. I have no idea what your choices are, how long you may have to wait to get a spot and how much you will save however. You might try to Google the travel agencies if you can find them and see what is available. DON
