Ms Jo UK Posted April 13, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2021 I have $400 obc from my TA. I also have obc to spend in my cruise planner from celebrity. I realise my TA obc can only be used on board. If I wanted to book a dining package would that be possible to book on board or would the restaurants be fully booked by people pre booking in the cruise planners ,therefore suggesting I would be advised to prepurchase. Drinks, grats and internet are already covered, so if I have obc from my TA still remaining near the end of the cruise can this be refunded and if so how do you get the refund. jelayne Posted April 13, 2021 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2021 You may be able to purchase a dining package on board . Whether you purchase the package in the CP or on the ship you can’t make reservations until you board the ship. IME dining times for the package are generally very early or very late. Prime times 6:30-7:30 are rarely available. Most times OBC from a TA is refundable, but not always. If it is refundable and you do not use it all it will be refunded to your credit card or you can go to Guest Services on the last night and get a cash refund. Ask your TA if their OBC is refundable.
Arizona Wildcat Posted April 13, 2021 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2021 One can also get cash at the casino. Lots of ways. Hopefully someone from the UK can let us know if OBC from a TA is considered OBCR - the R being refundable.

Hand the casino cashier your Sea Pass. If a US TA your OBC almost guaranteed to be OBCR
cruiserchuck Posted April 13, 2021 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2021 Celebrity used to add a 5% surcharge for withdrawing cash in the casino. I do not know if that is still the case.
39august Posted April 13, 2021 #8 Share Posted April 13, 2021 There has been no charge to me for taking TA OBC on my Sea Pass from the casino.

I do not know if that is still the case. In earlier cruises, we could get cash at the casino cashier less the 5% fee but have not been allowed to do that for the last couple of years. Our experience on recent cruises is they would not give cash, regardless of whether it was from Celebrity or TA, even if refundable. They download the money amount to your sea pass card (no fee involved) and give instructions as to how to use it in the casino. You have to designate if you will be playing table games or slots. Any winnings you have, you keep. If you don't use all that was downloaded, you forfeit the remainder.

39august Posted April 13, 2021 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2021 No. I just asked for cash and it was counted out for me with a receipt which I had to sign. We had several hundred OBC from out TA. I have done this at least twice in the past 3 years.
