Booking ocean view cabin on Anthem of the Seas for transatlantic crossing.

Recommended Posts

For some reason the ocean view category is minimal and relegated to deck 3.  Is this peculiar to this ship?  Agents are very reluctant to assist in the booking of this ship--cannot imagine why, since the sailing date is one year from now.  I need some thoughts as to why I am being pushed into a guarantee room by agents.

No idea why they are pushing you into a guarantee.  Take a look at the spacious Oceanview on decks 8 and 9.  Category 4M

The only cabins on 8 and 9 are so far forward that sea movement going TA might be risky.  ? if everything is sold out or being reserved.

Nothing is sold out .  There are plenty of cabins in both the 1N and 2N category.  They are so far from being sold out they have opened up the 1N category to parties of two when they are ususlly held for parties of 3 or more.

This is only some of the available staterooms.

Just some information that might help you.  We have had outside view deck 3 cabins on Anthem a number of times.  Nice cabins with easy access to DL, food options, casino, music hall, dining rooms.  Lots of venues to get to without using an elevator.  This might be something helpful post-covid.  If not booking a balcony we would take these cabins on any trip.  Katherine

I had cabin 6530 and my parents had 7516, which are pretty far forward, on the very rough inaugural transatlantic (Oct/Nov 2015).  We had no issue with ship movement during rough seas.  YMMV.

I had oceanview cabin 3246 on a NE/CA cruise and I thought it was a convenient location.

I've also had mid ship deck 7 balcony (Anthem Bermuda) and deck 13 balcony (Quantum TA).

FYI - I booked an Inside [virtual balcony] guarantee on the May 2022 TA.

I just booked cabin 3646 for my TA sailing in May. I had a balcony but could not justify the price difference of over $1500. Outrageous. Given that we are traditional dining, the location is pretty amazing.

I had the exact location but on the port side (3246) for a NE/CA cruise.
