ETIAS after January 2022

Recommended Posts

So everyone doesn't have to click thru to see what that is about:

"Starting in 2022, the European Commission will roll out a U.S. style electronic travel authorisation system for visitors from countries that are currently not part of the EU. These visitors have been granted visa-free access to the EU and Schengen member countries through virtue of their good track record on security issues and, thus, have not been deemed as a threat to EU security. However, the EU is wanting to strengthen its border security as well as digitally screen and track travellers entering and leaving EU countries."

Sounds very similar to the Australian system. A few minutes per person on the internet, a small fee, and the info is digitally attached to your passport. Not a big deal...just a small thing we need to do.

Has been in the works for several years. And its for all of the EU, not just northern Europe.
