Do they still have a marketing agreement??? Can we still get MGM status for having Captains Club status?  We used to get MGM Gold  for having CC Elite. A nice benefit but I don't know if it went away in the pandemic so does anyone know?

Thanks everyone.  With the pandemic we have not been down there much in the past 18 moths so I thought I would double check before I went in to renew our gold MGM status.   I should also look at Ceasers, I know they did a match at hone time but I am not sure about the long term for that one.  Parking fees are coming back and MGM Golds don't have to pay.  🙂

I am very sad to say that the new rules only grant us Gold status for Celebrity Elite Plus instead of the previous Platinum.  I will really miss the VIP parking area and check in at the Beau Rivage.  Oh well

It was a very nice perk while it lasted.

MLife is now MGM Rewards and there is still a marketing relationship with Celebrity.
I saved a lot of money on my upcoming cruise because I’m Gold with MGM. (855) 227-2537 Is the dedicated line at Celebrity cruises if you are MGM gold or above and want to book a cruise. It’s still active. I spoke to someone on that line 2 days ago.

Im unaware how status matches work from Captains Club to MGM.

My Celebrity Elite status got me MGM Gold with the partnership. During a promotion in Atlantic City, I was able to match the MGM Gold to Caesar's Diamond. Those two statuses got me a Casino match offer from Carnival Cruises which I used to book a 10-day Med cruise for my wife an me in a balcony cabin essentially for free.

Thanks for the reminder to go down and renew my MGM status.  I let it expire during the pandemic since we were not going down there at all and  the parking was free for a while.  Anyone know if Elite still equals MGM Gold?

Yes. I think even Select gets Gold.

Gold also qualifies for a special check in area.  Not sure about VIP parking, but you do get free valet.  And the best part, with Gold they waive your resort fees if you booked direct.  That is a big perk if you ask me!

What do you need to show at MGM for the status match? Do you just pull your status up on your phone and show them? Or can they find it in the database using your ID?

I emailed MGM all the relevant information and the match was completed in a few days: memberservices@mgmresorts.com

I don't know if it can be done in person.

When I called to try to establish my upgraded status ahead of our recent Dec Las Vegas trip, I was told that you had to do it in person. I was not aware of the email option that RichYak mentioned or I would have tried that, too.

So after checking in at the Bellagio (performed in-app, not physically), my wife and I went to the M life Rewards desk on the casino floor to get our status upgraded to Gold.

It was a pretty casual and friendly process. They asked for my drivers license for identification and something that showed my Captain's Club number and status. I used my Celebrity app to show account info (Captain's Club number) and my next cruise info (Captain's Club Elite status). And that was it, they issued us our new M life Rewards card with our Gold status on it and away we went.

The card had "Jan 2022" printed on it which meant our upgraded status reverted back after a little over a month.

My suggestion would be to take the following steps:

  • Use the email I posted above to get back to gold through January 2023.
  • Match your MGM Gold to Hyatt Explorist through December 2022
  • In January 2022 match your MGM Gold to Hyatt Explorist again, now thru December 2023
  • In February 2022 match your Hyatt Explorist back to MGM Gold.

These MGM/Hyatt matches can be done instantly online so it's very convenient and efficient. No emails, phone calls, or visits to the rewards desk. Just repeat the last 2 steps every year as the staggered expiration dates let you match back and forth perpetually.

I've been doing this for years, but simply forgot the February step this year, so I had to start over using my Celebrity status.

What would be consider relevant information other than Capt Club # and Elite Status?  Thanks for your help!

Did you mean Jan 23 and Feb 23 in your last two steps?

This is new to me, but we’re staying at Mirage this summer so seems like a good idea to look into the match.  It sounds like status is only good for a year?

Full name, Captain's Club number and status, MGM member #, and MGM status requested.

Status is only good for a year and definitely worth matching if you are Elite or higher for the waived resort fees and free valet parking especially.

I'll always be Diamond or higher on Royal. Can I just use that to perpetually match to MGM Gold? Do I have to do it each year, or can it only be done once?

When I did this a few years ago, I had to call MGM annually (October or such?). I'm pretty sure that they'll just ask that you jump through that hoop. I was saddened that my Elite+ with Celebrity no longer earns MGM Platinum - but then again, not even Zenith rates that either.

No matter, I have no plans to head to Vegas anyway (it's been a few years), should that change I'll give them a ring.

we got mlife gold for being diamond on RCI. we then status matched to diamond at Caesars which allows you to not pay resort fees at CET properties.

Were there you an existing member at Caesar’s?    We tried to do that last year and a they told us it is for new members only.

We did get matching at Wynn for what that is worth.  It was done in Sept while in Vegas.    It was good to the end of the year so we really didn’t have much of a chance to use it.   We already had a room at the Bellagio and were leaving in a few days.

Did they tier match to your MGM or to your Celebrity level? They told me they don't tier match to other casinos
