Where is the tram?

I can't do those flying chairs

It's the same thing, that's why I said    or    between them. It's on the far side of the port area when you walk off the ship. I think it's like $15 to get a all day bracelet. .. or dont. Your choice. It's a pretty walk down to the beach. Not far to walk. Some just like the tram which is in your excursions to purchase.

The real answer to this is to be honest with customs. My buddy on my Panorama cruise bought a bunch of cases of booze (Hennessy White) and the customs guys just waived him through. This other guy I met on on a short cruise buys 10-12 cases of Hennessy White and then sells them to finance his cruises and buys more. He said customs waives him off every time and doesn't charge anything extra (he's done many cruises this way). If they catch you with undeclared large amounts, they may not be so nice. It seems they reward honesty. Declare any large purchases and they will most likely just waive you through.

Sounds like they could make a reality tv show out of this.  Maybe Locked Up Aboard?

Nah, not that serious. More like "charged out the wazoo", where they stick it to you if you try and slide by without you declaring. They don't really want to be a hassle and most people aren't bringing ridiculous amounts of stuff. It's mostly smokes and booze and many people grab them for gifts or personal use so they usually just waive you through or maybe a very small nominal charge. This is for Long Beach anyway, could be different elsewhere.

It has never happened on a Carnival Cruise I was on before so it was new to me.

We got shut out for the late comedy show on Panorama in February 2020 pre-covid regs. People said they got on line 50 minutes before the show to get a seat. It's the smaller size of the venue on Vista Class that has caused this.

Good morning from Cozumel! We are in port with another ship for the first time today and the is the Adventure of the Seas. Our day in Cozumel will be shorter because I think they are worried about the same kind of currents that delayed the Vista last week so our port time was cut by an hour. Gonna have a good time snorkeling out there today anyway!

Speaking of that walk, my mother, sister, and I decided to take the little nature path down to get a better look at the flora.  I guess we should have been more on the lookout for the fauna, because a snake fell (or maybe on purpose???) from a branch above us to our feet.  Scared the daylights out of me for sure.

Passing close to Cancun on sea day #2 and chugging towards Isla Roatan. If you are going on the Vista make sure you see the show called Flick! It was a really cool and unique show that they can only do with certain main theater setups.

Apologies if I missed this... was this trip originally advertised as stopping in Grand Cayman, and switched to roatan due to Cayman not accepting cruises yet?

I'm on the Vista in October scheduled to stop at GC but I just read it will not welcome cruise ships until next year or later.

Our cabin steward told us this morning that our stop in Honduras was almost cancelled because of weather but luckily we were able to go. We have also been informed our day in Cozumel will be shorter. If you are traveling out on a Carnival ship and want to see a comedy show you will need to line up early and they clear it out between shows so others can get a chance so you can’t pick a spot and watch b2b shows.

Can you make a reservation for the standup show on the app?

You can’t. It is first come, first served seating. We were talking to others on the ship who also thought they should go the reservation route as well.

We were originally Jamaica and Grand Cayman but our itinerary was changed.

So there is one thing that bothered me yesterday and it was a passenger and not the at all Carnivals fault. We were on a shore excursion that was cut short due to onboard time and sail away time being made earlier. This made us “pier runners” even though we were on a ship sponsored excursion. I have seem people clap and cheer at that group but there was one person I am hoping none of you will ever be. They were on their balcony shouting for us to “Hurry the f- up because they wanted the f-ing casino to open”. They even shouted this at the old lady with the walker who was with us and the last one back from our group. They did it to the people who arrived after us from the final excursion back as well. Don’t be that person. It’s a cruise and everyone is trying to relax and have fun. Carnival will open up the donation boxes soon enough…

Did anyone park right across from the Carnival ship? There used to be a little parking lot, on the corner and you can cross the street to the ship.

We park in the Galveston Park N Cruise. Drop of luggage and people at dock, park  across the street and walk back. They have inside and outside parking.

It does look like debarkation is being handled just like it was in the past. I have picked up my tags so that we can get off the ship pretty early and clear out for the next group to go have fun! I love going cruising but I miss the cats back home. And when you get on board find Elle because he is absolutely amazing!

Why wouldn't it sail?

From reading on these boards, CCL is planning to make an announcement next week re: SEP/OCT cruises.   There's a pretty good chance it will sail, but these days, who knows.  Changes almost by the hour it seems.  And now with this variant going nuts....... but fingers crossed for sure!  Just trying not to get too excited just yet.

And just like that Galveston is within sight. It has been fun reporting from cruise 2 of the return of the Vista. Allow me to remind you that these folks have been out of work for months so please remember to tip extra to the staff, have a great time, and be respectful to each other when you get the chance to come aboard!

It's also very hard to do b2b shows, as when the first is over you have to exit and get back to the end of the line. Say for a family show then the adult.

As someone said vista class cut the theater and comedy club size in half. Theater if you go late can wind up behind a column. Poor design. Lol but here I go again. It's why I prefer dream class.

For those of you that did a Carnival Excursion in Roatan, did you have to wear masks and keep them on the whole time? If so, which excursions? Thank you

Host Carolyn I think it was said the vaccine hasnt yet made it to roatan. Expect to wear masks except for water excursions or when eating. ..easier to say it this way than to name all water excursions. Its required to shop in the port.

Also required in shops around the island. Even though vaccinated here my son has to wear a mask inside shops etc when he goes back home there
