Emerald Princess - Owner's suite vs. Penthouse Suite

We  are planning our first cruise on Princess and would like to try a suite (have been on about 21 cruises ,on other lines, and never booked one before). Since the corner owner's suites don't have a side view - would you rather stay in the owner's suite or a penthouse suite? The owner's suite also says partially obstructed view. They are cabins A750 , A751, A752 and A753.

Cruise Deckplans notes that cabins A750 and A751 are near the rear vent and may have odors and noise, so I wouldn't choose either of those. The other two don't have any marks against them, so either of those would be my choice.

There are very few extra perks on Princess for staying in a suite ( except for the size and the fact that you have a curtain that closes off the bedroom from the living area ) especially if you are elite and get the free laundry and a set up anyway. The one really nice perk is only available on Royal class ships Regal, Royal, Sky, Enchanted, Discovery that is the concierge lounge with a wonderful concierge to help with everything. But some people don’t like the Royal class feeling that the staterooms are smaller and the ships too large. And no one gets early access to book the sanctuary. Even with a suite it’s dog eat dog. If I didn’t love the staff and activities ( trivia and games) so much , we’d switch to Celebrity. We had a big aft suite booked on the Enchanted for October in the Med but it was canceled. Next is an Aft Suite Riviera deck for December on the Sky.🤞🏻Hope there isn’t a soot problem.

I don't know about the Emerald but once on the Pacific we got an upsell to an owners suite and it was really too large.  Too many closets and on a rather bumpy trans Atlantic cruise had them banging open all night.  Now we prefer the Vista suites

There are side views from the balcony in an OS, the deck plans don't show it but here is the view:

We'd take the OS over a Penthouse any time.  Some folks don't like the beam, but it can be handy for shade sometimes.  Also the OS has a dining table for 4 inside.

That's why I bring bungee cords!

We also prefer Vistas but only deck 9

Besides the cabin here are a few of the nice full suite benefits on the Emerald Princess:

Club Class dining** and the special full suite breakfasts. On the Emerald the special breakfasts are most likely in the Crown Grill

Thermal Suite, no charge

Laundry service, no charge*

Specialty restaurant dinner, no charge, on boarding day in either the Crown Grill, steak & seafood, or SHARE, your choice

Ability to order room service from the full menu. Others have a limited room service menu.

Priority tender service*

Princess provides a nice full suite experience with the same high quality service that it affords to all passengers. Except for the Club Class dining area which is a section of the Da Vinci DR**, Princess does not reserve exclusive locations on the ship for full suite passengers where they would be separated from other passengers. It isn't their business model.

* Also available to elite loyalty level passengers

** Club Class dining also available to those that booked Club Class mini suites.

To piggyback on skynights post above,   suite guests also get a mini bar setup, bottled waters every day, snacks and fresh fruit delivered to your room during your cruise.   Thanks, and have a wonderful day

I know this post is over a year old, but didn't want to start a new topic just for this.

Can you still order from the main dining room and have it delivered to your full suite?

Yes you can. Everything gets delivered at once, but it’s a great

benefit if you don’t want to go to the dining room.
