I was trying to double check the information for testing requirements since I keep getting conflicting information in the emails I'm receiving.  Anyone have any information about this?

Thanks in advance,

@amcb

I just checked the requirements are online

St. Maarten Travel Requirements as of July 7, 2021

Travel requirements vary by homeport country. Be sure you’re aware of both homeport country and Celebrity Cruises vaccine and testing requirements as they may differ. We will continually evaluate and update these requirements and protocols as new information becomes available. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements leading up to departure.

Important information on testing and screening requirements. For full travel requirements to St Maarten click here.

Vaccination Policy

  • All guests ages 16 years and older must be fully vaccinated with all Covid-19 vaccine doses administered at least 14 days prior to sailing. Acceptable proof of vaccination must be in the form of the original vaccination record document issued by the country’s health authority or healthcare provider that administered the vaccination.
    • As of August 1, 2021, all guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated.
    • Crew members onboard will be vaccinated.

St Maarten Travel Requirements

  • All guests arriving by air must complete the St Maarten required Electronic Health Authorization System (EHAS) . Complete this form as soon as you have you a negative RT-PCR test result. Processing can take up to 12 hours.
    • Tip: Guests arriving and departing by air should select “Air Travel” for Travel Method. If you do not, you will recieve a daily health questionnaire from the government that you may disregard.
  • Staying over in St Maarten before or after your cruise? You must purchase the St. Maarten Visitor Protection Plan through the EHAS form. The Protection Plan is not required for guests transiting the same day to and from the ship.
  • All visitors must present a negative naso-pharyngeal RT-PCR test results taken within 72 hours prior to departure.  US and Canadian visitors have the option of presenting an antigen test taken 48 hours prior to departure however, Celebrity Cruises recommends that guests complete an RT-PCR 72 hours prior to arrival to St. Maarten in order to meet both government and Celebrity requirements.
  • Proof of negative RT PCR test and the EHAS pre-approval form are required at the airport.

Celebrity Boarding Requirements:

  • Celebrity Cruises requires all guests age 16 and above to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to sail date. As of August 1, 2021, all guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated. All guests must present proof of vaccination and required travel documents at terminal check-in.
  • All guests must present a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival to St. Maarten.
  • Unvaccinated children must complete an additional test at the terminal prior to boarding.

Guests that do not meet the testing and health screening policy requirements will be denied boarding.

While Onboard

Face masks are not required and optional for guests who choose to wear them. However, face masks may be required while ashore based on local regulations.  We’re sailing with fewer guests for more space – and more luxury with even more activities to avoid large gatherings in public spaces.

All guests, ages 2 and above, will be issued a Tracelet™ at the terminal to be worn during the cruise. The Tracelet will help us with contact tracing in the unlikely case of an onboard health concern. We will collect your Tracelet at the conclusion of the cruise.

While Ashore

While visiting the Caribbean, on-your-own tours will be permitted in St. Maarten, Curacao, Aruba, and select approved on-your-own tours will be allowed in St. Kitts & Nevis. However, Celebrity Cruises curated tours will be required in Barbados and the British Virgin Islands.

Travel Home

An antigen test is required for re-entry into St Maarten for all guests age 2 and up. The test will be administered free of charge on board prior to debarkation. Additional home country test requirements will be administered onboard free of charge.

NOTICE: For U.S. cruises and guests: Prior to sailing, please consult all applicable U.S. Centers for Disease Control travel advisories, warnings, or recommendations relating to cruise travel, at www.cdc.gov/travel/notices. If a certain threshold level of covid-19 is detected onboard the ship during your voyage, the voyage will end immediately, the ship will return to the port of embarkation, and your subsequent travel, including your return home, may be restricted or delayed. For cruises and guests worldwide: Health and safety protocols, guest conduct rules, and regional travel restrictions vary by ship and destination, and are subject to change without notice. Due to evolving health protocols, imagery and messaging may not accurately reflect onboard and destination experiences, offerings, features, or itineraries. These may not be available during your voyage, may vary by ship and destination, and may be subject to change without notice.

@amcb I had issues viewing it on mobile. It is fully there on my computer, however. Updated as of 7/7 and includes the dreaded tracelet requirements...which no other cruisers have to use.

I think I would prefer the tracelet over the blue ribbon that others had to wear.  A plastic band is easier to keep clean for a week than a piece of ribbon.

That's so bizarre. I'm on my computer now. Rebooted and still not showing up.  But it is consistent with the email I received. Both say 72 hours before arrival in St. Maarten for the test so hopefully one will suffice for both entrance requirements and Celebrity!

Thanks again!

The wristband was not an issue as it was nylon and dried very quickly.   I wore it the whole week.  Only time it bothered me was at night as I generally take my watch off and it was strange having something on my wrist at night.

I guess I don't understand this.  If you are on a cruise originating from the United States (Equinox on August 8 )  that has a port stop in St Maarten, do fully vaccinated passengers who want to get off the ship in St Maarten have to get and present a negative Covid test before they can visit the island?

The above "St Maarten Travel Requirements as of July 7 2021" almost sounds like it's for passengers who fly into St Maarten and their cruise originates from St Maarten.

According to the Celebrity website:

Eastern Caribbean
On your own tours are permitted in St. Croix, St. Maarten*, St. Thomas and Nassau
Celebrity curated tours are required in Tortola

*The St. Maarten government requires all guests age 2 and older, be tested before disembarking and visiting St. Maarten.  Test will be provided onboard.

The text @Fouremcoshared is correct. I also wanted to add that this requirement is new within the last week and the current sailing does not go to St Maarten, so we have not seen this in action yet. The July 17th will be the first sailing going to St Maarten with the new testing requirement.
