No temperature check Nothing special for YC guest. Time to come back on board about 30 mins Did you bring up these incidents to the Concierge, or the YC Manager? Too many early dining passengers lingering after dinner and causing a waiting line around 7:30pm. I foresee this could be a big problem on Seashore.
no1talks Posted July 29, 2021 #54 Share Posted July 29, 2021 Well, if an early rush of YC diners is the cause of the blockage, I won't sweat it. (Assuming my Divina cruise takes place a planned.) I prefer an early show and late dinner.
Rare MarkusToe Posted July 29, 2021 Author #55 Share Posted July 29, 2021 Well, if you book more guests in than normally, you will have waiting times.... Due to reduction of total guest capacity, the number of waiters are reduced as well. This causes problems at YC as YC is full...

The staffing of the non-YC part of the ship would be expected to be thinned-out, due to the low PAX count. However, you are saying the YC staffing is reduced as well? That is a poor administrative choice.
MouseBerry Posted July 29, 2021 #57 Share Posted July 29, 2021 Hi, to me that's more than poor admin choice. MSC doesn't delivery the product as advertised. Does anybody know the cabin per butler ratio on the newer ships like Seaview? I read somewhere, but cannot remember where, that on Fantasia-class ships one butler had to take care for 12 cabins. And on newer ships one butler has to take care on much more cabins. cheers MouseBerry

DFWGUYZ Posted July 29, 2021 #59 Share Posted July 29, 2021 @MarcusToe, Thank you for posting your adventure. We, like no1talks, also like an early show and a late dining. Being sort of a restart cruise, hopefully by our sailing some of the kinks will be worked out. I am surprised no priority boarding upon return from excursion. No more white tent outside with YC guests sign?
Rare MarkusToe Posted July 29, 2021 Author #60 Share Posted July 29, 2021 Nope, no tent...nor butlers.... Today was formal night... Excellent dinner +1 had lobster feast 😄

Nunagoras Posted July 29, 2021 #65 Share Posted July 29, 2021 Port side YC privileges here in Europe used to be only offered on your departure port. Otherwise butlers will escort you for your bus if you have an MSC excursion booked. Nothing special for return. I'd advise that during the current post pandemic ordeal, shore excursion organization will likely to be a nightmare. Expect lots of cancellations, time changes and confusing arrangements depending on the ports of call capability to deal with their own regulations that change by country or by region even across the EU. Have a nice day!

KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted July 30, 2021 #68 Share Posted July 30, 2021 My wife and I are on this cruise beginning August 14; regular not YC. I expect we will be some of the few Americans on board. I was able to pre-book and pay for excursions now since they are mandatory to get off the ship. I was concerned they would sell-out before we boarded. So you were not allowed to leave the ship in Visby? Thank you for the great reports! Can't hardly wait. KINGBOB/Orlando

Seeing that it was a formal night, can you tell me if men had to be dressed up with jacket and tie. Being retired and having had more than my fair share of formal functions in the military, I now try to dress casual with dress pants and dress shirt and no jacket in my luggage. Enjoy your cruise
Rare MarkusToe Posted July 30, 2021 Author #70 Share Posted July 30, 2021 It's formal, but at YC a bit more than normally...but entire ship, close to nothing. Haven't seen any tux.... Nice shirt and pants, done...

KINGBOB/Orlando No excursions at Visby sold on ship, even a private tour organized from YC was not available, hopefully yours will not be cancelled.... Leaving the ship without excursion is not permitted.
Rare MarkusToe Posted July 30, 2021 Author #72 Share Posted July 30, 2021 This morning first time tried to use toilett on YC pool deck. I'm shocked, thought within YC are somehow "higher level" of guests, at least guest knowledgeable to use toilett flush....and don't leave such a mess behind.....
