Turn 8A Posted August 17, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2021 For our Miami to Miami November 15 cruise, it appears that I can make up to 15 reservations. We are in a concierge cabin for this 24 night cruise. I thought that we would only be allowed 3. On my account it says 3 of 15 Dining Reservations Completed. I added 3 more and it says 6 of 15 Dining Reservations Completed. I may add some more tomorrow. Are we special? 😀 Or is the ship that empty? DeepFreeze63 Posted August 17, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2021 The Regent website! Even in this COVID world, some things don't change.
mrlevin Posted August 17, 2021 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2021 Trip has been split into (at least) three segments which explains nine of the reservation options. Probably three more as the entire 24 days is considered a separate booking. No idea on the last three. Yes the ship is extremely empty. Usually they would close certain restaurants on various days but if they are selling eight day segments that is hard to do.
HonTri Posted August 17, 2021 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2021 We got in 5 reservations that's all we could book! The web site sucks.
Rare crusin7 Posted August 17, 2021 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2021 I just booked 1 reservation in Pacific Rim before their excellent website crashed. Mine also said 1 of 15.

Rare ronrick1943 Posted August 17, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2021 You really should book them while you can—you can always cancel hold plans change for you. Sometimes it’s much easier to cancel and try to book.
Jimmcdaniel Posted August 17, 2021 #8 Share Posted August 17, 2021 There seemed to be plenty of Prime 7 and Chartreuse reservations but they cut me off at 2 for Pacific Rim.
Turn 8A Posted August 17, 2021 Author #9 Share Posted August 17, 2021 We got 5 out of 6 (2 of each) on sea days including on our anniversary. Seems like enough for now. We will wait to make new additional reservations once on the ship.
RetiredandTravel Posted August 18, 2021 #10 Share Posted August 18, 2021 Sette Mari (Italian) doesn't require reservations and is another option. Our cruise was full so you needed to be there when it opened, if your cruise is that empty you could probably walk in anytime.
RELS Posted August 19, 2021 #11 Share Posted August 19, 2021 Past experience on the Explorer (Baltic, June 2017): Pacific Rim is just OK, whereas Prime 7 and Chartreuse are much better. The Compass Rose (main restaurant) was always very good. That said, I was able to book two reservations per special restaurant. After that it stopped accepting my requests. I wouldn't want to eat at the specialty restaurants 15 times, because the variety at the Compass Rose is greater. The menu doesn't change at the specialty restaurants much throughout the cruise (IIRC). You can see the sample menus for those restaurants here: https://www.rssc.com/experience/cuisine/prime-7 https://www.rssc.com/experience/cuisine/pacific-rim https://www.rssc.com/experience/cuisine/chartreuse Something we were able to do on our previous Explorer cruise was have lunch at Chartreuse. That was a treat! I hope they offer it on this cruise.
spindrift Posted August 26, 2021 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2021 On my Splendor October trip, I wasn’t given the pacific rim option. Wonder why. I love it.
