Vaccine Requirement for your October 2021 sailing

On August 19th, 2021, the Bahamian government advised that cruise ships will only be permitted to enter a Bahamian port, including private destinations, if all passengers ages 12 and older are fully vaccinated. To comply with this requirement, guests 12 years and older are now required to be fully vaccinated for your sailing. Guests under the age of 12 are not required to be vaccinated, but may be subject to testing requirements.

Our records indicate that you are vaccinated and as a result, this does not impact you.

Thank you for your cooperation. As we get closer to your sail date, we'll share details regarding additional sailing requirements. We look forward to welcoming you onboard.

Sincerely,

Royal Caribbean International

We just got that and updated status. Now the big question is….If vaccine is required for our sailing, can we PLEASE sail mask-free?

Nope. Royal is certified to sail under the test cruise protocols so masks are required. See Seattle cruises that still require masks indoors even though they've always been vaccination required. Royal has no desire to turn away kids so they won't guarantee 95% on board. It'll be masks indoors on Royal until 1) the CSO changes/expires or 2) vaccines are approved for younger kids so Royal can guarantee the 95%.

Cruised out of Bahamas a couple of weeks ago. All passengers vaccinated, and no masks required on the ship.

I got that as well, but it listed me as unvaccinated.

Funny, I remember being vaccinated on the Allure test cruise

Actually...IF and WHEN there are boosters...an updated card is produced showing all of your vaccinations according to our local pharmacy that did the first ones - they have all this on file in their records.  Laminating is not a problem.

Nope! There are still going to be masks in shops, public indoor areas , etc. it's all on the website. Despite everyone over 12 being vaxed there will be plenty of kids under 12 and the cruises are not 100 vax

No - not all are not vaccinated.  There will be unvaccinated children on board.

With St. Thomas & Bahamas mandating vax cards...and other destinations following suit soon...it's only a matter of time before Royal no longer accepts unvaxxed passengers (thankfully).

What about families/children?  I understand a vaccine will be  offered to 5-11 year olds sometime  this fall/winter.  That leaves children under 5.

Royal (and the Bahamas criteria) also allow unvaccinated adults with medical contraindications.

Their time in line (for vaccination) will come...but unfortunately not soon enough for some folks.

Both St Thomas and Bahamas requirements have exceptions for this under the age of 12, which will change when the 5-11 year old group becomes eligible for vaccine.
