vegas7df Posted August 30, 2021 #27 Share Posted August 30, 2021 Looking forward to sailing Allure next month with lower passenger count. This will be the first time on an Oasis class ship. Just got off the Independence yesterday, passenger count was 1,025 just under 30% capacity. The crew indicated 82 people cancelled the week prior to sailing. I don't think there are many worries about capacities hovering around 35% for the rest of 2021 as limited demand and increased amount of ship sailing alone will keep those levels.....unless Royal just starts to just give free cruises away. It's usually announced during the sailing. If someone is doing a review of the sailing they will usually post the count here.

Hoping to be near 2000 for our 9/12 sailing Date Passengers Capacity 8/8 1700 31% 8/15 1520 28% 8/22 1770 33% We were on the 8/22 Allure sailing and Marc the cruise director said it was 1,620 guests onboard. With the current protocols, such as the social distancing rules, at times it wasn’t so easy to find a seat in the theatre. It was especially difficult finding seats for the ice show and even worse the aqua show. Hopefully as they add more guests, they adjust the rules a bit, or else it will be hard to even find a seat in the Schooner Bar, which wasn’t easy at times either. That is totally crazy that they have seating that restricted that with only 1620 passengers finding seating at venues and shows was challenging. At the ice show every other row was closed off as well as the first two rows. Every party had to have 2 empty seats between, and many premier seating was held by the Genies for the upper tier suite guests. Plus they made everyone wear masks. The show was good, but not worth all that hassle IMO. I can’t imagine how it will be when they up the guests. Oh and we had reservations! The aqua diving show was almost as difficult to find seating. We had to move three times, because it was hard to find two seats between other guests. Twice we asked if they could move a seat to their left or right so we could have the social distance….nope. Then third time we found seats, a Genie came and told me to move, she wanted to sit her group, although she hadn’t marked the seats! I said only if she finds us seats. Finally a family that we knew from the suite lounge said we were part their family and we sat next to them. We were also suite guests BTW. So my point is get there early for shows you don’t want to miss.

If they are going to be so restrictive they cant reserve seats on top of.

With current protocols it will be hard, if not impossible to get a dinner reservation, seat at a show, seat on the pool deck. I said to her I’m not moving unless you find me a seat.she didn’t even acknowledge that. It was really her error, because she didn’t mark enough seats for her group. Luckily, the couple on the other side let us sit with them because I wasn’t moving otherwise and the two seat buffer would have been a problem. The show was fantastic! Do not miss it! In years past the beginning of Dec Oasis class sailings were always marked down in like late Oct/Nov to the cheapest levels of the year....this year they are pretty much priced at those levels right out of the gate...will be interesting to see where they go in Nov this year. My bet is you may see Oasis class down to the $300 range for a week. Edited September 6, 2021 by bajathree

With Oasis already down to $442 for a 7 night sailing I think we may see it easily down to $300.

They allow full suites and cut capacity through Bal/Int rooms. If needed, they will bump those classes - those are cheap to get bookings and then cut if needed to allow full suites. Not on Oasis looking at the same Dec 5th sailing.

Which I don't understand exactly. Allure was never amped so Oasis is more current. Only thing I can think about is the itineraries out of NY/NJ are lackluster. Ports like Orlando and alot of time in "meh" Atlantic. The NextCruise people on Allure 2 weeks ago were really pushing Oasis. In Dec Oasis is out of Miami 😉 I was on her right out of amplification and she was looking great! Don't know exactly why but they are selling her really really cheap out of Miami Nov/Dec.
