Confirming Included Perks

Is there a section of the HAL website where you can confirm what perks (particularly drink package or gratuities) have been included in my booked cruise's fare?  I know that it was included in the Special Services section of the invoice but I can't find it on the web page for the booked cruise (only dinners and excursions).  Am I looking in the wrong spot? Or is this just not captured on HAL's website?

HAL has the most frustrating website I have ever seen and includes none of the basic info Princess has on their site.

It has seemed to me that there's no central place to look. On a booking which "perk'd" me gratuities and 2 dinners, the dinners and any existing shore excursion credit shows up on the "welcome" screen and on most pages as "promotional credits." The gratuities show up if you go to the itinerary, just under the promotional credits ("pre-paid crew incentive"). I haven't been able to find the beverage package listed on any of the various pages.

On another booking on which we got no perks, the cancellation protection we bought also shows up under the Itinerary page, just above the actual itinerary.

Hang onto your paperwork! Hope you're able to find your perks on your booking!

It's all listed on my invoice from. my TA  cruise fare, port charges taxes, paid gratuities, shipboard credit free internet, free liquor setup 1free excursion, dinner seating etc.  But I did not book thru HAL

We booked through a PCC, and the same shows on our invoice.  I haven't tried to find it on the HAL site, but it is on our invoice.

I don't see anything for my December cruise on the website except 3 specialty dining, 0 shore excursions (I booked when the perks included service charges instead of excursions).

I keep every confirmation and will print them all and take with me.  They all show the perks.  They also show OBC.  I had $250 when I booked that came with my FCC.  Then I paid $500 on my booking and got another $125.

For whatever unknown reason, I just had a look at the confirmation I received Monday night when I paid the balance, and it now shows $500 total OBC.  No idea why I have another $125, but I'll take it.

I'm not sure if my SH OBC will show up once I can print my docs.  I know on Carnival that you can't see that anywhere except when you print docs.  But I do also have the email confirmation for that.

Hate to print so much paper and carry it with me while travelling, but I just know that if I need something and don't have a hard copy, they won't have a record and I won't be able to find it on my phone!

You are wise to take the paper.  I found out the hard way HAL doesn’t like stuff from your IPad or phone.  They want the printed email, printed confirmation, etc.

I always take ours and frankly, that’s more than enough since it confirms all the key perks and OBC 😉

It is only on any cruise confirmation emails you get from HAL. It should show on one of your payments or your final payment. It did not show on the HAL "final payment notice" I got from HAL, so I called and talked to a customer service person and she confirmed my perks. It also showed up when I made final payment. I booked with HAL.

I do not see our beverage package either, but I do see the "pre-paid crew incentives" when I go to the itinerary page. That is what HAL has now named gratuities.

No sign of drink package that I can see.

I see the "pre-paid crew incentives" there as well.  Hadn't thought to look on that screen.  If I click on the option to purchase/pre-pay tips, it shows I have "booked crew incentive."

But both Signature and Elite drink packages are available for purchase.  If I select either, the full price shows in my cart.  One would think they would only offer the upgrade to the elite, but no.  They offer the signature package that's already included.

And they're still willing to let me purchase an internet plan, which is also included in my booking.

We're expecting too much from HAL's IT folks, I guess!

That is odd.  Mine (April 2022) was not allowing me to purchase the Signature package but only  the upgrade, now there it is, the ability to purchase the signature package.  And people ask what is wrong with the HAL website?!!?!   As a cyber oriented person it is enough for me to want to go with Princess.

I am rather new to HAL and have these included perks for my current booking. Do I have to do anything special regarding the drink package and WiFi to activate these benefits? Also, how do I know the cost of free drinks that are included in my package. I don’t see that listed anywhere. Thanks for any help.

No, you don’t need to do anything to ‘activiate’ the benefits.

Cost of free drinks is on the Signature Beverage Package - it includes drinks of $11 or less. (Maximum of 15 per day) Don’t worry about the gratuity.  It’s included in the package so just worry about the cost of the drink.

Although this is our first HAL cruise, and I agree the website is a bit frustrating, the website for MSC cruises is by fast the WORST website!  But that cruise (MSC Divina) was our BEST cruise, hands down!

Everything about MSC is pretty awful.  Except their cruises.  My first was Divina.  Beautiful ship but too large for my tastes.  The next spring, I sailed Armonia (small and old but I'm fine with that) to Cuba.  We were on the next-to-last sailing that was able to call there.  I enjoyed it so much I booked the same cruise (minus Havana) for 6 months later.

I currently have 2 FCCs to use on MSC.  Just trying to figure out how to squeeze them in since I already have 10 cruises booked between this Nov and May 2023.  I guess I could've asked for a couple of refunds, but I decided to make up for lost time and rebooked every cancellation.  I expect my two Carnival Australia cruises for February to be cancelled any day, so I'll have those to rebook.  I may actually get one of those as a refund.

Back to the subject of seeing your perks, I also had a look at my November Eurodam booking.  That one is a "free" casino offer, so I have the DOU while gambling.  I did go online and prepay my service charges.  For that one, it makes no mention at all on my confirmation about the casino off or drinks, but I also saved the original email offer showing the perks that come with that booking.

Hey, I'm a CPA.  I can't help myself.  Documentation is important.

The last time I had free gratuities included as a perk from HAL for booking a certain promotion, I saw it in two difference places:

(1) On my PDF/paper confirmation form sent to me when I paid

(2) Sometime after I boarded (maybe immediately after, or maybe soon after) I had an onboard credit in my account equal to the costs of the gratuities for the full cruise.  Then each day HAL would charge me one day of gratuities, until the credit was zero'ed out by the end of the cruise.

Times may have changed (this was maybe 2-3 years ago), but that's what I saw: no mention of the included gratuities as a perk on the HAL web site in my booking info.  It only showed up on the confirmation and similar to an OBC.  (And for completeness, no I didn't prepay the gratuities; it was a HAL provided perk as part of a package including maybe a specialty dinner and a reduced size deposit).

FTR, I pre-paid the gratuities for my November sailing (bare bones casino booking) but they are included in my December sailing as part of Have-it-All.  Both bookings look exactly the same on the website as to where it shows up (as noted above in Post #3) when you click on the Itinerary link.
