I hear you should have a backup test in case the first one comes back "inconclusive." I will probably order the 3-pack for myself and my spouse, assuming that it would be unlikely that both of us would have an inconclusive result. We'll also have a backup plan for a local test in case of an emergency, even though last-minute tests tend to be quite expensive.

In some situations, insurers are paying for the test, though it seems to vary by carrier, location etc.  If push comes to shove and you have either an FSA or HSA, you can use that to pay, still your money but at least it is already there if so.  Good luck!!
