Rare Silent Penguin Posted September 20, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2021 I'm watching the Port of Miami webcam. Nothing's happening. We're wondering if anyone knows what's up.
May1cruiser Posted September 20, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2021 Seems most ships have been leaving later than usual.

vwrestler171 Posted September 21, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2021 12 minutes late doesn't seem like a big deal. I've been on cruises where we didn't leave until 4:30.

So IFromDc tells OP to post this in the hope the opposite will again happen. Hit a Royal Flush in the casino and you could win hundreds or even thousands of dollars. You must be fun on a plane.....LOL I could go snarky right back at you, but instead I will clarify that the chat group on the Port of Miami's live webcam were wondering why nothing was going on at almost a quarter after 4:00 since according to the Port schedule the ship to leave the dock at 3:30. Everyone there knows cruise ships don't always leave on time; they just wanted to know if anyone knew why. I think you jumped to the wrong conclusion concerning the tone in which the question was asked.
ChrisNCruiser Posted September 22, 2021 #12 Share Posted September 22, 2021 On the 8/21 Magic sailing, the ship was scheduled to leave at 4 - we had the Sail Away party and then just...sat there. At 4:30, Exceptionally Enthusiastic Cruise Director made the first of three every-half-hour announcements that we'd be leaving "as soon as they completed the paperwork." At 5:50, we were sitting on the balcony, facing the cruise terminal and saw a couple of Sheriff vans pull up. The cops entered the ship and came out three minutes later with a passenger in handcuffs and the rest of their party departing with their luggage. We set sail five minutes later, the 'paperwork' having been completed.
Rare crewsweeper Posted September 22, 2021 #13 Share Posted September 22, 2021 Unless any ship is still docked 60-90 minutes after scheduled departure, it's nothing to get franticly worried about. Especially if you're not on board and simply watching some port cam or app from your device. 1

Will the passenger complain if there is no refund for his (or her) cruise?
jsglow Posted September 25, 2021 #18 Share Posted September 25, 2021 Yeah, we were solidly 2 hours late leaving Miami on Sunrise in late August. 'Paperwork' my eye. They were dealing with a crew Covid situation (disembarked that day) that almost didn't allow us to visit Half Moon, an issue that went all the way to the top of Carnival's house AND the Bahama govt.
