This guys seems to be trying to tell me

Something.  Look at Those eyes…. I hear him now! “Going go bed with 1/3 of your drinks left for the day!!!”  And it’s only 10:45??? His logic is good…

Dinner at Cucinas was amazing!  My first time there- the Victory did not have speciality dining for a fee.  It was just amazing!  First, the restaurant had only 3 tables seated at 6:30.  The ship seems to be about 50% capacity- no crowds- anywhere.

Our dinner drinks included 4B6CBE1C-0FC7-47A4-8ED3-398D1B0E6624.thumb.jpeg.70d16b8f7cd9c3afdcec6a41700d2406.jpeg Chardonnay and sangria.  The sangria tasted like it had sparkling water/soda  in it - wasn’t great.

next up the bread- unfortunately, it was clearly pre-baked.  Barely warm and a little tough?  Could have been life changing if out of the oven, but still good.  Our wait person added garlic olive oil over the top.  So good!

Next salad and soup. We shared these.  We had a Cesar salad - our least favorite- over dressed and strong anchovy taste.  Next the special salad- outstanding.

fresh, crisp, lightly dressed.   But the star of course one was the soup!  The best minestrone soup any of us had ever had!  Just check out that picture.  To die for. Drizzled in basil oil with lemon and Parmesan cheese.  Yes please!

And appetizers- we shared an arancini and a meatball. Both hot and delicious!  Arancini was melty in the middle from warm cheese. Both came with one of the best red sauces ever- we think they roasted tomatoes in olive oil as the base.  So good!  I missed a pic of the arancini - trust me, delicious!!

And entrees- I had the Farfalle pasta.   it was delicious but heavy (at this point what wouldn’t have been…). It was in a cream sauce with shrimp - a bit much! I also had the roasted broccoli and cauliflower. Also delicious.

DM had the veal scaloppine Marsala. This was a winner winner!!  The veal was melt in your mouth tender. Perfectly cooked mushrooms and a creamy Marsala sauce. She had gnocchi on the side.

DS had the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti.  This was another winner.  The chicken was pounded thin and perfectly cooked. The sauce a star of the dish and the cheese had to be imported. Incredible flavor!

You guessed it, we had our waitress bring the three desserts - we had to taste them…  you just have to read the description yourself.  All good. We had different favorites.  Nothing as good as the red sauce… we also had Italian Coffees- thank you drink package!

Overall a 9/10!  I spent last week in wine country- Napa and Sonoma- we ate in some amazing restaurants.  This meal was right up there with the best Cali had to offer!  The service was also outstanding. We just loved our server. She was attentive, timed the meal perfectly, got everything right, and she was delightful!  What more could you ask for?

Can we talk for a minute about the fact that the wait staff has to stop and sing and dance during dinner service?  For the love of all things just no!  It’s so awkward- they are professionals and great at their craft.  Don’t make them stop service and dance. Just no.

Sunrise has a late night buffet, in addition to 24 hour pizza.  They have an omelet station and a small offering of hot food 11-12:30. But all the bars on 9 are closed.  There is a bar open till 3am on 5. I don’t know which one- sorry!

Was this close to the Cruise Terminal? Did you happen to notice if their was a liquor store near by? Sailing in May on the Sunrise and trying to plan for all the fun. Thank you and enjoy your cruise.

Did you happen to notice the shade availability on HMC? I’m a little worried. Spent literally the whole day there last time but we had a cabana.

Virtually none.  If you go early and take the tram to the villas, there is shade at the lounge chairs in front of the two story villas.  We did this. It’s basically gone by noon…. You may need a clamshell- but that looked hot!

Back to breakfast - terrible internet!!! No lines anywhere!  Really - no where!  My biggest issue with the Victory was lines- everywhere. Wait to wait.  Anyone who can cruise now should!  We

all shared a guys breakfast sandwich- Good Morning Morgan- the veggie frittata was amazing!  We also shared a breakfast burrito.  All so good!
