Just one request. I note that you don’t seem to have visited Onda as yet. We came across it on the Spirit and really enjoyed it.  Big improvement on La Cucina, although that wasn’t difficult. LC was an insult to Italian cuisine as far as we were concerned.  If you do get there we’d be grateful for a peek at the menu. Cheers!

Onda is tomorrow night!

If I am not mistaken I think Ketchikan is the town with all the bars and churches.

That fact was coming from our tour guide yesterday.

This is because you can't actually drive out of town. You can only get to Juneau 3 ways... by boat, air,  or being born there.

Juneau has a high alcoholism rate. He also said that the ski resort owner tried to add a bar to his place for years. They found a loop hole though... by having someone on property who could marry you on site.

LOL...that's a perk I don't need at a resort.   🙂

Lunch in Ketchikan at the fish house.

We both had the salmon chowder, it was really good.

Next salmon corn bread, my wife loved it!

I had the 2 piece cod meal, which was pretty good. Nice and crispy, Cajun fries. She had the 2 piece salmon, which was good as well. Crispy and tender.

Just an FYI when booking rooms, we're on deck 15 (aft), which is a spa room.

Every evening and morning you will hear these squeaky wheels coming from the waterfront. It's like nails on a chalkboard!

They wake me up every day bright and early... ugh!

Oh the humanity!!!

Thanks for the heads up as we will also be in that area. Do you think side of the hip matters?

We changed our original club balcony  to get spa rooms and I'd thought we were getting a spa club balcony, but I guess they were sold out early and got a spa balcony. (I like the bigger bathroom with the shower I always forget how to set up. Also I've read they've now added a few perks - the snacks- yes, the champagne-meh.) Anyway, I didn't realize the room difference until, of course, the prices went up months later. So for the last few months I've been moping about it. Now, I am definitely hoping that we will be able to bid on a different room, but that is even moore months in the future. If nothing happens, we still will have the slightly larger angled balcony if the I read the deck plan correctly.

Thanks for all the great pictures and info.

We stopped at Fat Stan's first before the fish house.

Nice small place, the drinks and food are paid separately.

I ordered the Alaskan cider, she had a mojito.

I almost fell off my chair when she told me both drinks were $17... geez, guess it's made with special water.

When we got off the 1-way tour into town, we stopped at the outlet store.

Wow! Is this place huge. You can see my photo of their polar bear on Google maps as a highlight!

This store had everything from hats, clothes, magnets, shot glasses, totem poles, etc. We spent a fortune here!

FYI... Ketchikan crab and grille is closed for the season.

Also, the lumberjack show is closed as well.

When the shuttle got back to the port, guess what you have to walk through again... another souvineer trap!

Inside they had a bar, coffee shop, homemade chocolates, smoked salmon, clothes, stickers, magnets, pop for sale, and seating spread around.

Another $40 gone...

Tonight we are going to the Manhattan room for dinner.

Then we see Kinky Boots.

Adult comedy in the theater.

Then the district brewhouse and mojito bar.

Think I'm getting:

- smoked mozzarella ravioli

- chicken and matzo ball soup

- 3 cheese baked ziti

- maybe herb crusted rotisserie chicken

I'm not sure if both sides receive the same noise.
