I didn't think about the Saints. They have a 3:25 game that day. Will that create a traffic problem in the mid-morning when we are driving through?

I would allow plenty of time for traffic just in case. Also hotels and restaurants will be full that weekend. Will be a wild time in the French Quarter.

Does anyone remember which dining room is for set dining times?  also, for those who've sailed out of N.O. since restart, how was embarkation?

Aft. Very smooth for us, but I pick check in times in the middle and avoid the early times.

Pre Covid set dining was aft and YTD was midship.

Thx for answers, 3 of our 4 cabins are aft, so YEAH!  9 people in our party, so we decided set time easiest for us.

Different question, since refit, balcony cabins still have mini fridges?  My sister brings insulin.  Strangely cabin descriptions on CCL don't mention them, but I've seen them in older youtube videos.

Yes, but they are coolers (as with the other Carnival ships), not refrigerators. No guarantee they will be cold enough for meds.

Per usual then,. She's flying down, I'll be offering her a collapsible cooler if she needs it.

On our Sept 26th cruise embarkation at around 11am was OK - about how priority boarding usually is. But that was due to there only being about half the normal number of passengers. With a full ship it would be no fun at all.

We just got off Sunday. We had a great time. I have all of the menus and a lot of pics. Not sure about writing a full blown review but if anyone has questions would be happy to answer.

Did you do the Chef's Table? I was wondering if menu has changed since 9/2/2019. Do you still have to wear masks everywhere?

We did not do the chef's table. You have to wear a mask whenever you are at an indoor venue. There are staff members with masks available for people who don't have one. If you are sitting eating or at a bar you obviously don't have to wear one but if you get up to leave or get more food at the buffet you have to mask up. You have to wear one in the casino if you're playing. You don't have to wear one when at any of the outdoor decks or pools.

Thanks for the information everyone! We are so excited to be back on a ship! I will be living on Cruise Critic for the next 18 days till we leave and welcome anything this community has to tell me!

Same, I have been watching YouTube videos for days, but still can't find parking and/or hotels. 14 day cruise means parking is going to be rough

We were on the Glory Sept. 26th sailing. It was one of the best cruises we have taken.

Our last cruise before this one was a two week cruise on the Glory down to the Panama Canal in Feb. 2000, so we are familiar with the ship. The big plus on the Sept. cruise was the smaller number of passengers. It seemed like there was only half the normal number. Press the elevator button and presto, an elevator was there. Playing in the casino and need a drink? Just turn around and wave and a waiter was there. Want to go to the comedy club on opening night? You can arrive fifteen minutes early and get a great seat or arrive just before the show starts and get a good seat or go any time you want and sit at a front table (everyone is afraid of being picked on – and you will be if you walk in late).

On the negative side, though nothing was a big deal for us, was slimmer pickings at the buffet, no bacon out in trays for most of the cruise (though I was able to get some of what little they had in omelets at the omelet station until the last day), a few doorways arbitrarily roped off per CDC requirements (made no sense – you could walk up to the rope on one side then walk around a bit and walk up to the rope from the other side), and of course wearing masks in the casino and dining areas when not eating.

I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the wood on the decks. It looks like they did a good bit of painting during the covid break, but lots of the deck looked like it could have used some care.

All in all it was a great cruise. When it returns to full capacity I expect it will be like the days of old and we will pine for the covid cruise days though. We’ve been spoiled.

So exciting.  I'm going on a Panama cruise for the 1st time. Ever been on a ship for more than 7 days, so I'm in for a treat. Where did you park, I can't find info except for the port parking which is $20/day. Yikes. Planning on staying the night before somewhere.

We were on the "collision cruise".  Had no idea anything substantial had occurred until we got off the ship and saw it - whoa!  Anyway, I just booked another cruise on the Glory today for 12/19/2021.  CCL sent me way too good of a deal to pass up!  We said we wouldn't sail in masks, but for the deal we got, we'll sail in masks and anything else they want us to!  LOL!  Now I just hope the testing works out - fingers crossed!  The Glory is one of our faves for sure - not too large or small.  This will be our 3rd trip with her.  We even made friends with our head waitress and assistant waiter in the MDR.  We probably won't be lucky enough for them to be back on the Glory this time, but we will certainly look for them.  We also love sailing out of NOLA.  For one thing it's an easy drive for us.  And as you mentioned, sailing down the Mighty Mississippi is a unique experience for sure.  Can't wait!  Will be our first post-CV cruise!

Where did you park? 14 day cruise so I'm hoping to find a deal somewhere. Did you get a hotel? Planning on driving in the night before.

Hampton Inn on Convention Blvd has discount cruise parking if you stay there  Not sure if there is a limit.

Fulton St garage for less expensive cruise parking than the cruise terminal.

There are some park and stay options.

Read your New Orleans info. Great stuff. Problem is I have a 14 day cruise coming up. Your info on parking didn't include that many days.

Fulton is looking like the best deal so far. Still looking for park, sleep, cruise hotels. the 14 days is not included on the ones I've called so far. Thank you so much for the response.

I haven't been in two years but here's my stuff from back then Carnival Glory. I'll be back on in March so there will be a live review on this forum then. And if you need it here is my stuff for New Orleans.

Love your blog info. Big help. So many hotel options, how do I choose? 1st time in New Orleans.  Looks like Fulton parking is best bet for our 14 day cruise.

Hi, so glad I found this. Sailing end of November on Glory out of New Orleans. Please help with parking and maybe a 1 night hotel stay. 14 day panama cruise. So inexpensive parking is what I need. $20/day for 24 days is going to be a huge hit on my pocket. Any advice

Pre-Covid, there were several hotels that let you park free during your cruise if you stayed there for a night. Things may have changed.
