I wonder if the problem stems from Snail Mail in and Fax requests.  The Seattle office is still by and large a remote work staff, working from home.  Remotely they would get the emails and possibly the faxes but need to go to the office to process the mail in requests.

Hmm...that is possibly the cause. I didn't think of that. My cruise is next month (January). Now I AM going to resend as an email. In fact, I just prepared my stock info so I can place the info into an email. Does anyone know if you send it that way do you still get the "we will reply in 10-14 days" automated response, but DO get your OBC credited sooner? Thanks again to everyone who is helping me.

I’ve sent all my requests lately by email.  How many people have a fax?  I had to drive somewhere to do that.  It was a huge pain.  I can’t say for sure but I don’t know how many people that work for hal actually live in Seattle.  For sure it’s not all of them.  My pcc used to live in Seattle but she moved to Oregon and works from there.  She’s been doing that for several years.  You’d think they have a process to capture the snail mail requests but knowing hal they just wait until someone complains 🙄.

That explains it.  Ir we book through a TA you can never see OBC on the HAL site.  Doesn’t matter if it’s CCL stock, TA’s OBC or HAL’s OBC.  Only place it will show is your TA’s confirmation with the total obc.

It’s he way it is sadly 😉. Just hang on to that email, wait for your confirmation which your TA should send you after you are paid in full and still take your printed out copy of the email to be on the safe side.

Actually I think they may have changed their procedure.  Previously when they applied my stock credit I got a new statement showing the credit.  I book directly with a PCC.  I sent in my request the other day for my Jan. 2 cruise and received an email that it would be credited when I board.  No immediate posting of credit or updated statement.

I mailed my info as soon as I booked, Nov. 8 and always ask that an email confirmation be sent to me, which I have gotten in the past. As I have not yet received a reply and the cruise is next week I called the HAL world cruise number.  It woman I spoke to said they were still going through mail and If I don't hear to bring my stock statement with me and the front desk will add the OBC on.  We shall see if that works!

Carnival has a disclaimer about using email for the shareholder benefit.

That's unique.  HAL has been allowing email for quite a while and started to publicly allow it in recent years.  It is on the site:   https://www.carnivalplc.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f

You simply "print" your statement by saving as a pdf then redact the info unnecessary.  If your PDF editor doesn't have a redactor simply strike out the unnecessary info.  I have been doing it this way and have always gotten a credit within 24 hours.

Alternatively you can print out the statement, strike out the unnecessary parts and take a picture with your phone

I do hope it works for you.  They started allowing email again a few (?) months ago.  They probably haven't updated the info on that.  Before when you tried to email you'd get a stern warning or they flat out refused to apply it (I'm speaking from personal experience).  They are not saying anything like that now.

Update on my call to world cruises:  after I spoke with the agent I received an email saying my benefit was applied to the Sea of Cortez cruise next week along with the Hawaii/Mexico Koningsdam cruise in February AND my Alaska cruise in June ( which I wasn't going to request until April!)   I printed out the email and put a copy in the folder I keep for each cruise.  I still prefer to mail the request.

I like the email option.  If I was to snail mail my cruise would be over by the time they go it 😛.  Good that they were able to apply everything for you.

Thanks for the info; going to give them one more day to reply to my snail mail. If nothing by tomorrow I will try to email the request.

About two months ago I submitted requests for 2 cruises, one in Dec, 2021 the other for March, 2022.

In a few days I got a rejection for the Dec cruise, due to me having a casino OFFER (this is also posted in the email offer which I did not see originally).

I never heard anything for the March cruise, which was booked using a casino RATE.  I called my PCC yesterday to check on it and she said that it was applied and sent me an update statement which shows the $100 in OBC.

Last week I emailed my request for credit in for our upcoming 1/2/22 & 1/16/22 cruises.  I received the auto-response and three hours later a confirmation email that the credits had been posted.  I checked my invoice on my Big Box Store travel agent site, and it was posted there as well.  This was the fastest I have ever received the credit.

I almost hate to post this.

First time shareholder here.  Have a March 2022 cruise.  Took my latest brokerage statement and redacted the account info and my address; added my booking #, cruise date, and ship.  This morning around 9 am CST I faxed the statement to HAL World Reservations.  At 3:30 pm I had an email from HAL saying they received the information and were crediting my onboard account.

That’s great.  No reason to hate to post it.  Hal should be embarrassed about the idiotic ways it manages it’s business.  On my email I explained in exact detail that I should get $250 for my back to back cruise.  Instead they post $200.  They did this last time too.  Seriously, can people not even read?

when you go to your HAL acct., where are the credits posted?  I don't see mine.

If you booked with a TA, it's not posted online. It will show the next time the TA prints/sends a confirmation. It's on page 1 under "GUEST INFORMATION" One person will have $100 more OBC than the other.

I didn't go to my HAL account on the HAL site.  I went to my reservation details for the cruise on the Big Box Store website and started the print reservation details sight and the bonus ship board credit showed there (in my case $250 greater than the last time I reviewed it).

Well, my saga has ended. Yesterday I emailed copies of my original letter and redacted stock information to the HAL email address. I had 1) sent my original information by USPS to HAL in Seattle about Nov. 3rd and 2) sent an email to HAL on Nov. 29th asking if they ever got my mailed in information. Well, today I got an email telling me that my OBC had been granted; I thought that was a really speedy response to my 12/16 email, BUT, what it was was a response to my Nov. 29th email, since it was quoted. Anyway, the person who sent me the email apologized for the delay and inconvenience, and mentioned that "the office has limited staff and mailed documents are taking longer to process", just as "Mary 229" suspected in Post #77.🙂

Well they why work on the newest first?  That’s just stupid.  It should be first come, first served.  Easy peasy.  This isn’t directed at you.  Just thinking out loud.

Maybe the idea is that if they ignore the older items they will just go away.
